Maybe me starting it will do something.
Go Hogs.
Sigh.
We win by 8
:leo:
Why do they keep giving Jabbering Jimmy our games?
Remind me of our last game. We jump, out to a 11-2 lead. Waiting for the turnovers and misses to start.
Quote from: Sus-Scrofa on Jan 11, 2025, 03:02 PMWe win by 8
That would be nice since it would also mean HTL wouldn't be trolling the game thread.
Someone please tell me that blue Walmart shit on the court is a computer graphic. That is a color that should never be associated with Arkansas basketball, I'd rather see that golden anus again.
Still getting killed on rebounds and underneath. No help at all.
Sorry big z, you just can't keep up out there.
How do we get such highly rated players to do such dumb shit year after year?
Some white kid named Haugh comes in and we immediately make him into the second coming of Dennis Rodman.
Getting all the rebounds and generally causing havoc with his physicality and activity.
We need to stop signing tall, skinny, white guys that can't jump or shoot.
My YouTube tv feed looks like it's being recorded on a Helio Ocean with a damaged lens.
Layups are hard

We make someone all world every game. Ole Miss had a guy averaging 7 that had 21.
Brazile is giving them hell
How has Aidoo ended up handling the ball so much at the top of the offense? He's not a point guard.
I'll say it: he plays white. He is sooooooo slowwwwwwwww. He looks like some big 7 foot white center from the 1970s. Like his name should be Mokeski.
Well, Cal did have to recruit a whole team. If these guys played together for 2 or three years, they may be a pretty good team. But we know most will be gone next year.

which is what the jellies bitched about the last 2-3 years with the roster turnover.
The lack of calling rebounding fouls against the offensive player when the defensive guy has position has killed the game and is about to make me lose my mind.
espnews switched to a corgi race, I should have stayed there.
what is our offense?

Over the back is never called any more.
All you do is laugh at our lack of an offensive strategy and our lack of rebounding. We look awful at both.
Need a big three right here.

i've seen better chemistry at pick up games than what we show.
how old is todd golden 23?
I don't get this:
this team has 1000X more talent than last year's but both were/are painful to watch.
There seems to be a difference in the level of physicality allowed on the Florida end.

Jesus. wtf Thiero
We need layup practice
I really think I could make more of those wide open corner threes than we have.
I'm sick of hearing how good Davis was at FAU. 40+% blah blah blah.
He sucks.
I really haven't seen what the hype was on Aidoo. He doesn't want the ball, doesn't seem to rebound, doesn't score, and just kind of hangs out outside. The one move to the basket just now was the only play I have seen him make all year. With his size, he should be pretty good inside but I haven't seen it.
I like we are attacking the rim now. Should have started the game utilizing that philosophy.

Well, if all you are going to do is pick nits...
This 2nd half may take an hour and a half with the number of fouls called. No rhythm to the game at all.
Shooting FTs from here on. We need some stops and maybe a basket or 2. We're, 9/34. 26%
WTF Davis?
I was told our shooting woes were easily correctable. 27% from the field. Woof.
I was right yet again.
It's not as if FL is doing anything spectacular. The Hogs are just blowing layups and bricking open jumpers.
A wide open three. Two tips at the rim.

Damn, Wagner. You didn't have to impregnate the entire Florida team like that.
That was an angry dunk
Just average threes and fts and we'd be winning
Show the damn replay!
White dude for Florida pushing in the back on every rebound.
They are just quicker to the football.
Quote from: buff2.0 on Jan 11, 2025, 05:10 PMWhite dude for Florida pushing in the back on every rebound.
All of them do. We have pretty good position and the guy behind us gets the rebound.
Being soft and not giving a fuck is a pretty terrible combination.
Damn. When we need to go down and get a good shot, we either turn it over or throw up a shit shot.
It's like John Pelphrey never left
Going to be a long year. Over to you, DVH.
Wagner needs to be the 1. He needs to be breaking down defenses and dishing. The ball needs to be in his hands. He is not a 2.
But Cal is dumb. Fland is a better offensive player but the offense needs to go through Wagner in the 2nd half.
Yikes this team needs some play makers
Agree the ball needs to be in Wagner's hands I'd rather have Fland doing catch and shoot. Fland also looks tired
UCA has the best player in the state.
0-8 night for the million dollar man Davis along with 3 turnovers and 2 fouls. I'm glad he's not worried, though.

So has NOT building Nolan Richardson his own statue been helping us?
No where to go but up. Or sideways.

Don't worry. Baseball is coming soon to kick you squarely in the nuts.
Maybe we should have hired a good coach instead. Who else does Johnny Tyson play golf with?
I was hoping we would get a rejuvenated Cal similar to what Tennessee got with Barnes. The coaching staff down to the players look absolutely clueless. Alabama and Auburn could legitimately beat us by 50 points.
We seem to have shitty players outside is boogie and thiero. They certainly aren't playing up to their dollar value.
At this point I think we can chalk Aidoo and Davis as a bust. Whether that's all on Cal, or that's them not giving a shit cause they got paid, I don't know. They were the two we needed to show up more than anyone. Davis just averaging 3 3s a game would make this season look completely different
2/16 on layups today. We call that the Angel Reese special.
I think this team will come around, but would have been nice to get these two at home. It's going to be a grind to get to the postseason but it was always going to be this season.
Hopefully the stench of our program doesn't erase Cal's ability to pull in top talent. If he can keep doing that, we should be back to where we want. Just might not be this year, unfortunately.

This. You can't win when you can't shoot. We shot 30% for the game.
This season, just making the tournament would be considered a success. But 0-3 not an ideal start
Trying to think back to a the last team where you didn't have to worry about who the shooters and scorers were going to be. It's been a while.
Modica, Brewer, Famutimi?
Dean, Gipson, Cleveland?

Good lord shut the fuck up. We were preseason top 20 and brought in top transfers and signees. The tournament should be a guarantee.

Well we did have two elite 8s since then with pretty consistent scoring. I think our best team in a long while was that one that lost to Baylor in the elite 8 that had Jaylen Williams, Umude, and whoever the fuck else was on that team. It's over stated that guys don't "play with heart"...hell nobody likes to go out there and get embarrassed no matter if they are making bank or not. It shouldn't matter. We're just not set up to win SEC games. But we've started slow in recent years and still made the tournament so I wouldn't get all excited just yet. We just lost to three teams that look a lot closer to Sweet 16 and up than we do, all three with well established coaches for whatever that matters anymore.

If you thought postseason was a guarantee this year, with 1 returning player, brand new coach, 13 of 16 teams in the sec ranked in the top 25, then you are a bigger idiot than you already get credit for on here.

The team that lost to Baylor was the year before Umude came. Umude's team lost to Duke in the Elite Eight.
The team that lost to Baylor had Justin Smith, Jalen Tate, and Notae...and freshmen including Moody, Jaylin, and the gay guy from Jacksonville.
Umude's team the next year had AD Toney, Notae, Kamani, the midget from Miami...and sophomore versions of Jaylin and the gay guy from Jacksonville.
Probably missing a couple obvious ones in there. I believe Bucket Sills may have still been here too.

Sills was on the Moody squad. I think that was the best team Muss had. Don't know that we would've beat Baylor but Notae was hot before getting hosed on a couple calls and fouling out.
The what if team was Muss's first year had Gafford returned. Only thing that team missed was a big who could rebound, defend, and give some inside presence. That team had everything else.

Yeah Adrio Bailey at the 5 was not ideal but Covid ended that season anyway. An even bigger what if is had Gafford made it to his senior year and been on that team vs Baylor.
I know their guards are what killed us but still fun to think about.
My kid played against Gafford when he was in 9th grade. Kid was extremely uncoordinated. He played up on varsity just for his size and athleticism. Really good to see the work he put in to get where he is today. He's come a long way. Seems like a really good kid too.
