Besides Scottie and Rory, who do you have ?
Hard to bet against Rory. Some guy named Russel Henry is supposed to be the dark horse. I hope Bryson wins it.
No Eldrick = Good weekend
Rahm really needs a bounce back.
I'll pick Morikawa.
I'm also rooting for DeChambeau.
Darkhorse - Zalatoris.
Old guy to finish top 10 - Sergio.
Outside of the "major" guys, i'll take Conners or Straka to play well. Love this week!
I'd put money on Xander Schauffele and Colin Morikawa. Both have been in the running in previous years and hit their irons well. It all comes down to putting for both of them.
I'd like to see Rory get the career grand slam, and he's playing well so far this year. He has to be the favorite, but Augusta is just in his head at this point.
I don't see Scottie winning this year. He's just not playing that well so far.
A long shot flyer pick: Masters rookie Davis Thompson. That dude is really good and played at UGA in college. He is going to be a star. He has all the tools to handle Augusta. He has a top 10 at the Players this year and the US Open last year. He is going to break through soon. It might be in Georgia this week.

Definitely a long shot. No first timer has won the Masters since 1979.
I will pick out a handful of guys to play.
Not sure who all yet, but I know Ludvig Aberg will be one of them.
This kid can play and will win a major someday.
Taking JT and Morikawa.
Annie has got her picks in.

Bryson just for the humor.

Solid pick. Aberg showed last year that he has the physical tools and mental fortitude to win at Augusta; he just had the misfortune of having to compete against the 2024 version of Scheffler.
Dark horse picks:
Min Woo Lee
Akshay Bhatia
Will Zalatoris
Brian Harmon
I've got:
Rory Mcilroy Top 5 at +138
Corey Conners Top 30 at -110
I have been to the Masters twice. 1994 and the Monday practice round with my son in 2021.
The Georgia guys were playing together. Kevin Kisner, Bubba Watson and Brian Harmon.
They were walking to the 16 tee box. The par 3 that the players try to skip the ball over the water.
A bunch of guys were barking and making loud dog noises. Obviously they were Georgia Bulldog fans.
Then I saw an older man wearing a green jacket walk over to one of them. He put his arm around the loud guy and whispered something in his ear.
All barking and loud dog noises stopped immediately.

Niemann with a hot start, a smidge away from 3 under through 3

And he birdies 4
My longshot Thompson with a lively -1. 5 birdies, 4 bogeys.
Also, I love the Master's website. On each player's individual page, you can see every shot.

The Masters app is really cool.

That kid plays some serious "ready golf." He is almost John Daly-like in his ability to step up and hit the ball. I love it.
The sweetest swing in the business, Freddy Couples, at age 65 finished at 1 under. He did hole 2 shots from off the green (one from 190 yards). That'll save you 2 strokes minimum, maybe up to 4-5 depending on 2 putts and 3 putts.
WTH is Garcia wearing? He looks like he should be riding a horse in a horse race.
I feel bad for the Dunlap kid. Not how you want to make the Masters history books.
Rahm is having a tough day, and I think it's effecting the guys that are playing with him too.
Rory melted down on 15. You just can't do that.
I made my wagers around midnight last night. Got 18 guys to finish in the Top 10. I've done it several times before w/ The Players and all the majors. It's a fun way of going about it. Makes Sunday even better bc you're absolutely rooting for or against everybody...every shot. Have finished w/ ups, downs, and w/in under a dollar of where I started before.
C'mon Freddy (+8000) and Bubba (+1900). Rose is +650.
Here are a couple of unusual stories from yesterday.
Nick Dunlap shoots a smooth 90.
Jose Luis Ballester, an amateur, playing with Scottie, takes a leak in Rae's Creek......
rory with 4 straight 3's to start the 2nd round back 9 to gain 4 shots in a hurry
edit: i'm the kiss of death. rory in the woods off the 14th tee. and he hits it on the green from the pine straw and spectators. unbelievable.
commentators talking about 22-27 mph winds for the afternoon groups.
Bryson having a day as well. One back of Rose currently.
The Dunlap kid who shot +18 yesterday shot -3 today. That has to be some kind of record for disparity between first and second round.

Golf is a funny game. Dunlap is -3 today.
Poor Phil doubles 15 and takes a drink at 16. Going to miss the cut now. Hate to see it :-*

That is why I never got interested in golf. I know that kid is better than I ever would have been even if I had spent every waking moment of my entire life practicing, and he still had that happen.
McIlroy with an eagle chip in on the par 5 2nd to jump into the lead.
Hope he wins it for the career slam.
Everybody making birdies

4 under through 3. Leads by 2.
Makes you wonder on which hole does the melt down start ?
The bunker that Rory was just in was massive. It was like the beaches of Normandy.
Rory's first six holes were 3-3-3-3-3-3.
It has begun. Rory has bogeyed 2 of the last 3
Quote from: BASS on Apr 12, 2025, 03:48 PMIt has begun. Rory has bogeyed 2 of the last 3
And then went 3-under on the next 5. He's dialed back in.
That 6-iron he hit on 15 was the sexiest thing I've ever seen, outside of a few human females.
Last time he had the 54-hole lead at -12, he shot 80.
Here's to hoping he doesn't do that today.
Here's hoping he goes Greg Norman today. 'Merica.
Uh oh, Rory.
Quote from: Doc Hogaday on Apr 13, 2025, 01:45 PMUh oh, Rory.
Only took 2 holes for Rory to give up the lead
2 holes later Rory back up 3
What wild start to the final round
The curse of bass strikes again. Give a compliment then he fucks up; in the woods of the 5th tee
Go Rory!
This is insane. There have been THREE two-shot swings and no ties in four holes. It's not match play yet but getting close.

Rory channeling his inner Phil. Great shots followed by wild shots and great saves.
DeChambeau's shaky iron play is continuing today.
It's not realistic to expect 25 putts again so he better find a swing.
Now just don't hit it left on 10!
Hit a 5 iron.
Rose made Amen Corner his bitch. Narrowly missed the eagle on 13 but goes 3-under thru those 3 holes.
2 more birdies for Rory
Yep. 4 shots better than 2011 on #10.
DeChambeau looking like a guy who's been playing 54 hole tournaments.
Rory can't lose this. Got it in the bag.
Perfect way to play 12 after a questionable decision on 11.
Then a beauty of a drive on 13.
Still a fair amount of water to navigate, so it's not totally over.
Quote from: HOGSRUNWILD on Apr 13, 2025, 04:23 PMRory can't lose this. Got it in the bag.
Rose is only 3 back and making some big shots. Rory just gave him a gift.
Another uh oh.
Rory must be a Razorback.
Rory says "yip"...
Rose says hello Rory
Quote from: Hogfan58 on Apr 13, 2025, 04:33 PMRose is only 3 back and making some big shots. Rory just gave him a gift.
No way. Rory can't lose this with this kind of lead. Has it in the bag.
In the words of Lombardi, what the hell is going on out here?
Choked away a 4 stroke lead on the back 9 in 5 holes
Rose saw the updated leaderboard and thought too long about that one.
Quote from: Doc Hogaday on Apr 13, 2025, 04:56 PMRose saw the updated leaderboard and thought too long about that one.
3-way tie now. Shit is getting good
Dechambeau in the water on 15.
Rory with a helluva draw around a pine tree to give him an eagle attempt from four feet.
Unbelievable shot. Not quite Bubba Watson territory, but holy cow.
Absolute stones.

Better than Bubba's shot, all things considered.
Now, can he make three pars in a row?
Jeez, I'm telling you this is just like watching a Razorback team trying to win any title.
Quote from: Thin Red Swine on Apr 13, 2025, 05:15 PMBetter than Bubba's shot, all things considered.
Ain't no way.
Another spectacular iron shot on 17. 2 foot birdie put coming up for the lead
Quote from: Doc Hogaday on Apr 13, 2025, 05:17 PMAin't no way.
I'm with ya. Bubba's was on a playoff hole, 40 yard draw in the blind around trees to within 6 inches.
But Rory's shot came when he was on the ropes. It's definitely better.
If in the trees, off of pinestraw, on a playoff hole of the fucking Masters isn't "on the ropes" I can't help you.
Rory has to get up and down to win.
2 putt gets us extra golf
Rory has been the biggest puking dog and best clutch player all in the same round today...almost from shot to shot.
Fucking McIlroy.
As I said. Good shot...bad shot.
The Razorback of golfers.
Quote from: Doc Hogaday on Apr 13, 2025, 05:39 PMIf in the trees, off of pinestraw, on a playoff hole of the fucking Masters isn't "on the ropes" I can't help you.
So we'll agree to disagree.
Rory -145, Rose +125 in live betting.
Good lord, get on with it.
2 good approach shots. Both can birdie. Or choke.
Rose makes his, McIlroy doesn't.
Okay, maybe not.
Rory just exorcised his Augusta demons
BOOM!! NEVER A DOUBT!!
After another greatest shot in Masters history.
The best Masters that I can remember. Absolutely amazing
I had Ludvig to finish top 5.
17 and 18 were killers.
Not masters.

Quote from: HughJasole on Apr 24, 2025, 01:24 PMIs she hot?
A quick Google search tells me that she is best described as "cute" with a definite potential to mature into a milfy hotness in her mid-30s.
