NFL Draft Discussion thread. 2023
Loving all the Will Levis faux outrage by ESPN and their shock he didn't get drafted super early like they all said he would.
All I'm seeing is how much trim he has sitting around him while not being drafted.
I went into this draft expecting two GMs to get fired based on their first round QB selections. Levis falling out of the first round probably cut that number in half.
I'll give the Colts two years before they get rid of theirs. The new guy will almost certainly be taking a QB by the 2025 draft.
Unless the NFL expands the sidelines so the Colts can put receivers in the 4th row, I don't see the AR-15 experiment going anything resembling well.

The way the media gushes over a guy like Anthony Richardson is really curious. I mean I admit I've watched the guy and thought he was good/great and I've also seen plenty of other evidence to suggest he's the next EJ Manuel. Think about it...Jacoby Brissett is a far and away better option at least right now for the Colts (I know he's on the Browns now). I don't view Richardson being much better than Brissett after he's had time to come up to speed.
Come on now, brissett can hit the broad side of the barn
KJ is, right now, a better QB in every metric than Richardson. Right now. Give KJ another year and he could/should be drafted fairly high if he can continue is development.
the only way richardson is going to make it in the nfl is if the colts give him a couple of seasons to develop.
if they are even thinking about starting him in the fall, it will be a disaster.
My two most important attributes for a QB are intelligence and accuracy. Richardson has neither. Manning and Brady had both.
Kj is better than Richardson.
Levis to the Titans. So yeah I don't see that going well. I guess last year's QB pick that couldn't throw but everyone gushed over him anyway is just dog meat now.

Malik Willis showed no signs, in games, that he had what it took. I came away impressed with the Titan's defense, they were constantly on the field and held up pretty well. Amazing season by Derrick Henry considering there was no pass threat for half the season.
Drew Sanders to the Broncos with the 4th pick in the 3rd round.
stromberg to washington.

Love this pick for the Broncos. I'm surprised he lasted until the 3rd round.

I wish the foreskins would stop drafting Razorbacks.

Oh boy, we got a top 100 pick to play a year from Alabama.
They had 46 #1 picks in Saban's term before this week.
It was good that we had him but fml.
Sanders can't play the run as I said all season. He won't be an every down player. Still can be a valuable pass rusher but no one is spending a first round pick on that.

I'm sure we have other kids that may be drafted but for those with bad memories perhaps some of youins can enlighten me on who they be?
Pool maybe
pool's hips are shot. maybe a ufa.

The fact that Sanders was ranked as the top 1 or 2 linebacker shows how weak the overall group was this year. LBs in this league make a living as special teams aces so he better get to work.

He probably didn't answer the first couple of times hoping they would pick someone else.
Why does this abortion of a franchise, the worst one in all of professional sports worldwide, keep drafting Razorbacks?
Goes to a shitty franchise that has shit facilities and is in a high tax area. His best bet is to make some decent tale in camp, get cut, and go to the ps of a decent team.
Didn't realize that Chris Vaughn was a Cowboys scout or that his son Deuce was the Sproles-esque K-State RB I saw play this year.
Watching the Cowboys draft him in the 5th and Chris's reaction was absolutely priceless. Proud papa.

All made possible by Houston Dale Nutt!
You know he's somewhere taking credit.
Hootie will probably send the kid an invoice for finder fees. I hepped your daddy once!
UDFA can be a better way to go for lots of players vs a late draft pick. I doubt Duggan would have chosen San Diego.
The last player drafted makes $768k plus $78k signing bonus but has a 4 year contract. UDFA is a three year contract and gets $750k if they make the team. Teams allocate signing bonuses as they see fit but have a total pool avg $200k. So about $20k.
9 former 5-Star recruits went undrafted. Top of the list? Jadon Haselwood, who signed a UDFA with the Eagles.
