Yep. When they flagged Petrino (I've seen Saban go volcanic on refs in the same manner) the refs decided at that point whatever they could call, they were going to. Nothing was going to let slide. And they did. It was reminiscent of the 2009 Florida game as some have said.

I don't really have a strong hate for HY. His hiring of Sam was fine. His extension of Sam was potentially retarded but not unwarranted. I know Woopig thinks it was but it wasn't. His keeping Sam as long as he did was unforgivable. So fire him, fine.
Everyone makes too much of NIL. Plus, Arkansas has enough money they can buy the players to win 8, 9 and 10 games. We may need more if we are talking championships. But we need to learn how to crawl again.

We got screwed, a lot. But the call on Rhodes was as egregious as the 2009 Malcom Sheppard call. The play was never blown dead was it? there was no whistle.
And then to have Green tackled almost the same way with no flag screams bias.
How many instant replays did they blow? There's no way of telling on the big screen.
I've seen a lot of HS football in S Arkansas and this looked like a good old hometown cheating refs game where we were the visitors and the refs had money on the game.

Bobby has shown that he isn't good managing games. He's a good OC. But his play calling is questionable in a lot of situations, and he continues to start a brain dead QB that can't read defenses and sucks at checking thru his progressions.

We scored 35 points and likely score more without the phantom calls that were obviously done to cheat us. Complaining about the offense is retarded old man.
Hopefully, we all watched another officiating crew that will be suspended for the foreseeable future. After BP got the personal foul, they went berserk calling penalties against us. Wonder what he said to infuriate them that much.

Add in that the dude likely fumbled as well as the ball looked to come out before he hit the ground. This is all without the whistle being blown. ALL THE REF HAD TO DO WAS BLOW THE FUCKING WISTLE and the dude never hits the ground, but he didn't so the play was live. If their dude had broken free and run for a TD, that would have stood as a TD, you know it, I know it.
I hope they get doxxed and their houses burned down to the ground. Whether they are inside them when it happens...

But bad teams ALWAYS find new and novel ways to lose. Sometimes it's the defense. Sometimes it's the offense. Sometimes it's special teams. Sometimes it's coaching. And sometimes it's the refs.
But where there's a way, we'll find the way. Today our penalties were the way. It really doesn't matter if the game had been called perfectly. We would have found another way.

That is literally the only reason I watch them play at all anymore. It's not a question of if they win it's a question of how are they going to fuck it up and they never disappoint. We've had some ref fuckins that would make Mia Khalifa blush and yesterday took the prize. 100 percent precipitated by Petrino's fit over a shitty call in the endzone which he had every justification for because the refs were clearly crooked as all get out. We continually get treated like the red headed step child...hell Kennesaw State would get better SEC treatment. I've never been a big "We gotta move to the Big 12" kind of guy and I get financially it makes no sense to do so but I'd be letting the SEC commissioner know we're taking phone calls clearly we're never getting a fair shake in this league and playing Oklahoma Lite, Arizona State, TCU, Texas Tech, Baylor, Ku, K-State etc isn't so bad. It would be a lot of egg on the face of the SEC.

I do not know if BMFP v.2026 could be our Moses if given the chance; but I do know he has not been given a fair chance this year to prove it. He was thrown in a 2000 gallon vat of chicken shit and told, "I need 2000 gallons of chicken salad by season's end. You have seven weeks."
Let's look at metrics, tangible and otherwise:
Record-- 0-4 Definitely a tangible F; however 2 of those losses were to Top 15 teams by a total of 6 points. The other two losses were to arguably inferior teams and one of those losses may have involved true tampering by the officials. Auburn was a poorly played loss.
Offense-- despite injuries to multiple key players (and TG's inexplicable Jekyll/Hyde performances) the offense is still managing a nicely balanced 209 yd rushing/276 yds passing per game.
Defense-- while still abysmal statistically, intangibly the defense has shown much more energy and attention to detail despite, once again, injuries to key personnel.
Special Teams-- are not...special, but have not seemed to regress.
Culture-- Petrino's "process" needs at least a year to bear fruit but there does appear to have been a noticeable improvement in team morale and sideline/on field energy. (If this continues over the next 4 weeks Petrino should be hailed as a miracle worker.)
Personally, I believe Petrino could bring the program back to respectability given another Spring and Fall camp-particularly if he is given the funds to hire staff and players.
I don't know if it was audible or not on TV, bit at one point there was a very audible stadium wide "refs, you suck" chant, followed up by the public address music playing "Your Cheating Heart". I've never seen or heard of anything like it. The whole 4th quarter was nothing but booing.

What nobody seems to know about is money, I really feel like our big boosters haven't been willing to spend big on football. Somebody has to step up. Even little old Texas Tech can kill it with the right boosters in the NIL era.

Also the PI in the end zone on the pass that nearly made it to the seats. Trevon Brazile would have had a hard time catching that ball in bounds if he had started the play standing in the back of the end zone with no defender near him. If anything should have been called it seems like defensive holding would have made more sense. Instead of 1st and Goal at the 2 it would've been a ten yard mark off.

I used fubo for the free trial this week. It's okay. Seems a little slow, pic didn't seem as clear, no multi view. Definitely prefer the YTTV interface. I'll cancel this week and hope YTTV is back for the next game. If not, probably check out Hulu package. I believe Hulu going to be a bit cheaper than fubo. But honestly, I didn't really mess around with the fubo app too much. Just used it to watch the games I wanted to watch.

It appeared to me that the officials got egos bruised and embarrassed when Petrino went off on them.
We all know you could find a call on every play if you look hard enough. After it got under their skin, everything that could be called on us was called. If we see a hold on the far side of the field, call it. If it is close to a target , call it. If it looks like attitude, call a personal foul.
Technically, they were prob there and will stand up to intense scrutiny. Was it still seeming personal by then? Definitely.

This is my only complaint. It wasn't that Arkansas didn't commit the penalties. It was that every time MSU should have been flagged for similar, they were not. Add to it in the 4th quarter Arkansas was called for critical holding pentalites when the actual infraction wasn't enough to warrant a flag. Again, it was very one sided.
The tackle out of bounds was bullshit. The runner thought our lineman was going to "catch him" him and when he didn't he started trying to stop before running in to the wall. Our tackler was just running beside him with his forearm kind of just in contact to keeping from tangling up. When the line man moved the runner kind of tripped up. It was right in front of me from row 14. The referee didn't have a view of it.

Agreed except there is no real justification for the roughing the passer against Rhodes or the PI in the end zone not being picked up due to the ball being uncatchable.

The only occupational group I've seen stand up for each other in the face of clear evidence against one of their brethren to the same degree of sports officials is policemen. That really isn't true...you occasionally find a cop who will have a crisis of conscience and blow the whistle on fellow officers' misdeeds.
The only argument I've seen or heard that holds even a little bit of merit for the calls being right were that they were judgment calls that could have technically fit the definition of the rule. Our beloved SEC makes the problem worse with a complete lack of transparency. They could do just like the ACC and show all replay deliberations in every game. Why don't they? Why can't they publicly establish a grading scale for what is acceptable for their officials, and then publish the grades each week and suspend and/or terminate crews who consistently fail to meet the standard? I get that there would be internet crazies doxxing them, threatening them, etc. and that's obviously wrong. Pay them more so that it's worth the minimal risk.
Maybe I'm naive, but I think that transparency would actually minimize those kinds of bad actions, as fans would know there was recourse for officials who failed to do their jobs. If we felt confident that people like Marc Curles, Jason Autrey, and the crew from last Saturday's game would face repercussions for their lack of performance it would restore confidence in the entire community as well as the conference. Instead we see the same crews each week, and in the rare event when an official or crew is reprimanded or suspended we only know about it when someone notices they aren't working a game in a particular week. Curles got demoted from white hat to another position, yet we wouldn't have known it if someone hadn't seen him in a game working a different role.

I won't go into their motivations, be they personal or financial or they got marching orders from above, but EVERYONE knows they were biased. That isn't even open for debate. They threw flags with glee against Arkansas, for every thing they could see and some they simply made up, while turning a blind eye to the same infractions against State. It was blatant, it was obvious and I hope they fucking die horrible deaths for it.

Agreed. As long as there is no accountability or transparency, it will continue.
Nothing is going to happen to the crew unless they do the same thing against another team like Curles did back in 2009. He screwed LSU when they played against Florida and then again when we played Florida the following week. The SEC had no choice but to suspend them because it wss too blatant happening two weeks in a row.

As someone said earlier. Saban NEVER got flagged on the sideline for chewing a ref out. Petrino is the only coach I can remember for that ever happening to. After that flag, it was flag city. Nearly every play.

I'd be a fan of the Jack Welch at GE rule. Bottom ten percent by position on the field every year get let go. That would be a little less than one per position per year (fuck it, round up). Nothing at all wrong with getting fresh blood infused annually.
