Title: Devo Appreciation Thread
Post by: BleedinRed on Mar 18, 2023, 06:47 PM

He catches a lot of shit but his game has improved tons. Hoping he comes back for 4 in a row maybe we can put together a Final Four team next season. I don't know much about either UCONN or St Mary's but I'll take my chances. Might not have a shitty game out of NSJ in the next one either. Time to suck it up buttercup.

We will have to go into executive session and discuss if we will allow .net posts to count on the .org board.

Epic, legendary game, but he is the MVP for the whole season.

For the 3rd straight year he has had his best games in the tournament.
There is no bad devo/good devo, only Devo waiting to steal opponents souls.

Devo belongs in the same vein as guys like Moncrief, Williamson, and Beck. He's a "heart and soul" player, an unquestioned difference maker, and a workhorse with no quit in his body. He's all hog.

If Muss wins us the natty, the statue needs to be him with his arm around a crying Devo.

One of my coworkers rags on devo all the time. Where can I procure a #4 jersey to put on in his desk?

I've been critical of him in the past, but he's all Hog, legendary Razorback now.  He dragged his team to the win tonight.

Yep.  He has solidified himself as a legend.

I listened to the legend Nolan Richardson early in the year when I was a dumbass and he was bragging on Devo's game then. Nolan knew.  Muss knows.

Devo is the quintessential Nolan player.  Love him and we wouldn't be anywhere near what we have been the last 3 years without him.

All hail #4!!

He's essentially Clint McDaniel with better offense.

The demons of #4 have been fully exorcised.  This house is clear.

Clint McDaniel was a 3-point assassin his final two seasons - both of which Ark made the National Championship game.

Clint, Roger, and Corey were a three headed monster.

interesting comparison (devo to Clint) but I can see it.

this team is known for defense, which is an Arkansas calling card, but the layups and dunks which are part of the Arkansas legacy is rare with this group. it is interesting.

My wife, who is a KU grad, was ragging on Devo just before he took over the game. I asked her what she thought of him after the game?

Where are these fucking onions coming from?

"But, that's just it. He left it all on the floor.

In Ricky Council.

In Kamani Johnson.

In Jordan Walsh.

In Anthony Black."

It was one of the gutsiest, epic tournament performances in Razorback history.  The epitome of what Razorback fight and grit is all about.

He earned it, this is his team now.  The tears are because it's been a struggle with the new guys and all the hype.  He didn't start the season well, got benched in Maui.

It's a story of redemption and never giving up.

We are in the sweet 16 because he single handidly scored 21 points in the 2nd half.  I'm going to say that's not been done by any Razorback in a half since Todd Day got 21 in the first half against Kansas in 1992.  We lost that game though because Day went cold in the 2nd.

So I think individually it was the best all time and one of those things that will be brought up long after he hangs it up.
