Let's get a road win.
We are doomed.
It will be interesting to see what we look like without Knox and Wagner. The line moved up after their injuries were announced. How long are they expected to be out?
Quote from: Pig Benis on Feb 07, 2026, 10:39 AMThe line moved up after their injuries were announced.
Who was favored? Does "up" mean they are now favored by even more or we were favored and we are now favored by even more?
We're going to win by 25 and look like a top ten team. It's kind of our thing this year after crapping the bed.
I took Miss St moneyline +220
Opposing teams come into Bud Walton and shoot lights out. When is the last time we went into an opposing teams arena and lit it up?
Can't hit shit.
We are 0-3. They are 2-2. Typical.
BR3 2-3 so far. Making me eat my words so far on his production.
But state can't miss.
Did their fans know there was a game today?
Brazile has really become a very good 3 point shooter.
Quote from: Show-Me Hog on Feb 07, 2026, 10:47 AMWho was favored? Does "up" mean they are now favored by even more or we were favored and we are now favored by even more?
We were favored by 5.5 last night and it went to 6.5 this morning. I think it closed at 6.
Quote from: BleedinRed on Feb 07, 2026, 11:07 AMBrazile has really become a very good 3 point shooter.
Not so much on layups though. However, he was fouled nd no call. Then they call a foul on us at the other end. Typical. We will need to beat the refs, too.
Don't know how that was a continuation foul. Foul was called on the initial move.
Refs are in fuck the Hogs mode already.
Getting bumped and hacked, no call. Bump on the other end and they get a bullshit and-1.
Except for Brazile's two blocks our defense looks the same (non-existent). At least we have a few buckets though so we are only down a couple not double digits at the first break.
Quote from: soldiersooie on Feb 07, 2026, 11:09 AMGetting bumped and hacked, no call. Bump on the other end and they get a bullshit and-1.
It's almost like we're having to go through an SEC humiliation ritual for daring to hire a head basketball coach away from Kentucky.
Brazile with another 3.
We compressed our bad start and comeback all into a 6 minute window.
Great ball movement to find Thomas flashing in the paint.
There's Sealy.
Wow. What a lob and dunk!
Quote from: Show-Me Hog on Feb 07, 2026, 11:15 AMThere's Sealy.
When is the last time he logged meaningful minutes? I forgot he was still on the team.
And Sealy with the dunk!
Well, the reverse jinx has worked. Offense is making baskets. BR3 is operating at peak production. Brazile isn't being a head case. We are up almost 10.
Richmond playing so much better than Knox or Wagner.
He's really playing slower, coming into being a complete player.
Hey, there's Sealy making plays. Looking better than Knox and Wagner too.
Quote from: BleedinRed on Feb 07, 2026, 11:17 AMAnd Sealy with the dunk!
He's gonna turn into a solid player.
The refusal to call fouls on them is hilarious
Sealy is having a good game so far.
Quote from: buff2.0 on Feb 07, 2026, 11:22 AMThe refusal to call fouls on them is hilarious
That Acuff one on the break is a foul 999/1000 times just for getting close to a guy on a breakaway. I guess we're just lucky to get the 1.
These refs. Fuck em.
OMG these calls...
Just bad.
These zebras are starting piss me off. Call it both ways if you're calling it tight.
Fuck Sealy. What was that ally oop pass?
The one thing we cannot do is get anyone in foul trouble. Well, the 2nd thing we cannot do. The first is score fewer points.
That might've been the worst oop pass I've ever seen lol
Bow down to Acuff holy shit that was awesome
Acuff with the left hand layup. What a play.
Helluva finish
Pringle needs to pull his head out of his ass and give Brazile a break. After Brazile's rest, Billy unfortunately needs to run point and give Acuff a break going into the under 4 timeout.
Sealy has played good defensive ball today. He needs to find offense now.
They had no choice in calling that foul
Hasn't it been several games since Thomas has scored on anything but those 10 foot floaters? His shot had been so pure.
Quote from: Show-Me Hog on Feb 07, 2026, 11:36 AMHasn't it been several games since Thomas has scored on anything but those 10 foot floaters? His shot had been so pure.
RIGHT ON TIME.
I need to post more.
Holy shit. We're playing Pringle, Ewin, and Brazile together.
Great first half for Brazile
How to end the half.
Not used to being ahead at the half.
State made a lot of bad decisions in the last three minutes
Great ending to the half.
Nice push the almost double our lead in the last minute of the half.
put some defense on hubbard and we run away with it. looks like we got a little tired but that was to be expected.
Quote from: vegashog on Feb 07, 2026, 11:55 AMput some defense on hubbard and we run away with it. looks like we got a little tired but that was to be expected.

I believe he got more minutes than Billy in the first half.
Why is state afraid to shoot the three?
Ewin icing his shoulder?
Quote from: Show-Me Hog on Feb 07, 2026, 12:09 PMI believe he got more minutes than Billy in the first half.
Billy sat with two fouls. Nice to get sealy some meaningful minutes
I love how quickly we look and pass the ball after rebounds, while pushing down the court etc. Wish we did that every game. We haven't played this well in a while.
What defense are we playing
We have no answer for the giant they put in
Ewin out too it looks like. Man the walking wounded.
Our defense is just a notch better (Mississippi State is helping us out a lot) but our offense is phenomenal today even without a ton of 3s.
Quote from: Hogfan58 on Feb 07, 2026, 12:17 PMWhat defense are we playing
Man but we are playing extra help on Hubbard. Forcing someone else to beat us.
Ewin gets in throws up that trash
What a block by Billy
They're playing a triangle and 2. Don't see that often.
didnt call that foul until the ref saw him miss the shot.
Quote from: soldiersooie on Feb 07, 2026, 12:25 PMdidnt call that foul until the ref saw him miss the shot.
Awful.
They blanket Thomas at the 3 point line and try to do the same with Acuff with varying success.
But they leave Brazile alone every single time, clearly happy to let him shoot a 3. He hit 2 early but it's been awhile and he's getting worse.
Brazile needs to understand he's a catch and shoot three point shooter. He can't walk into or dribble into his shot. He never makes them.
I guess they have an opportunity to throw Pringle out of the game.
I'm surprised the refs didn't try to charge him with attempted murder.
Acuff is a better player as a freshman than Joe and Corliss were.
Yeah, I said it.
Did t even hit him on the head. That was a collar bone judo chop. Weird.
Looking good today. I'm still holding out hope for a 3 seed.
Billy has been great today
Our defense at the rim is weird. We block a lot, and they dunk a lot.
0 is killing us
Quote from: buff2.0 on Feb 07, 2026, 12:31 PMI'm surprised the refs didn't try to charge him with attempted murder.
Surprised they didn't call something but it would have to be a flagrant, correct? They couldn't just call a personal foul there, right?
STOP SHOOTING 3s TREVON.
Sealy with a major contribution today.
Refs have not called a hilarious number of and ones for us today
Zero reason Sealy shouldn't have played more in the first 22 games.
Pringle is playing well without the ball in his hands today
Quote from: Show-Me Hog on Feb 07, 2026, 12:35 PMOur defense at the rim is weird. We block a lot, and they dunk a lot.
We don't have many guys. Don't want to risk fouling anyone out. Give them the easy bucket if you think you might foul.
Quote from: BASS on Feb 07, 2026, 12:36 PMPringle is playing well without the ball in his hands today
On offense, yes.
Defensively he follows the ball too much and leaves his guy wide open under the basket. Most of those dunks State is getting are because Pringle is lost.
Acuff is improving as a defender.
Acuff with 22 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. He plays on another level than anyone else on the floor every game.
He's SEC POY.
I got some shit for saying Sealy should be playing over Wagner and Knox more. I stand by that statement.
Agree Acuff has earned sec poy.

Playing more would even correct the things he has done wrong. He wouldn't have tried that weird alley oop. On his very last play he had a clear path to the rim to dunk, but for some reason went to the other side of the rim and got it blocked.
That's just playing time and rhythm and ease.
20pt win at the Hump. Nice!
So. Knox and DJ. Addition by subtraction?
And the addition of Sealy.
That's a winner!
Great way to start a great day of basketball. I assume a 20 point road win has to help our metrics even if MSU sucks.

Darius Acuff >> Boogie Fland. Unlike in football, the musical chairs era of college sports works in our favor.
I suspect it might be because Cal is different than Pittman.
Oh I see we already played today. Sweet. Glad I could help.
Dang good win today!

Acuff is wayyyy better than Fland. I would rather have Fland than Wagner though.
Concerning Knox and Wagner:
For this team to make a deep run in the tournament, those guys have to figure it out. At least play as well as they did last year. Sealy did the things today, come in the game and make plays when presented and not force, that they should be doing.
After Saturday I really expected to drop this game today, especially since it's historically a place we just absolutely suck at. Great win.
Great 40 minute game. No droughts. Didn't give up a big lead. Stats show attendance at 8254. No way.

He was. I think as a team, we just happened to gel after he went out. Same could've happened if he was still healthy.
I also think he played better with Cal's freedom than he has at FL. He has been much better of late though.

I know Nick Smith was heavily "managed" by someone other than our coach (Musselman). Wasn't that also a problem with Boogie, although not as badly, or am I misremembering ?
I don't think Boogie was "managed". At least nothing came out about it. He injured his thumb during the FL game. Surgery seemed to be the only option as soon as it happened.

yep, you could tell by the way he started the season and the way he played after the injury, including when he tried to come back. he lost a bunch of money on not getting drafted.
speculation was smith came to arkansas with a bum knee and the "procedure" he had was a little more involved than just a scope. i guess some can argue about the management part.

NSJ definitely was injured too. I honestly think he got a bad rap. Kid wanted to play.
I don't think Boogie has played himself into any more money or an higher pick either. Hopefully he made out with a good bag at Florida but he's probably going to have to get another ncaa bag next year if he's going for a first round pick. I don't think he's even a fringe first rounder this year, but its a deep class. Maybe he returns here for some chicken nuggies.

Nick Smith ranks right up there with Orlando Green as most overrated recruit to ever sign with Arkansas.
Yesterday was a quad 2 win. Lsu was quad 2. Georgia just beat them at home, so they will probably come out with their hair on fire. We don't need a quad 2 loss.
