ESPN still showing on their bracketology us as a 5 and Vandy as a 4. Updated an hour ago.

Edit: I was wrong about the update.

Do we know the locations of each round yet? Nevermind.
No way we get lucky enough to play in OKC. That kind of draw is normally reserved for Duke.

Besides the fact that we should be above Vandy and Bama, we should be in Virginia's spot. We won't be, but we SHOULD be. They have beaten one (1!) ranked team all season. Louisville. Yeah, well we beat them too. And we won 5 ranked matchups. And we played in a tougher conference. And won our conference tournament.

They need to burn the whole seeding system down and restart from scratch. Holy shit...where's the Tylenol?

Bama to Tampa
Kentucky to St Louis

Cal called this in the presser after the game, what's the point unless the winner gets something out of it. Playing on Thursday, he knew we would.

A&M gets to play in OKC as a 10 seed.

I might have an urgent business meeting I need to attend in Santa Clara...

Yeah it's rough. My sister in law is a manager at the Target in Kaneohe and she just sent us pics of waist deep water in the store. It's pretty rare for that area to have that kind of flooding.

Whether Nolan Winters plays for Wisconsin may be the deciding factor if we play high point or Wisconsin in next round. I don't think he's been practicing with the team

You're not gonna get this level of in-depth analysis from Hogville, folks.

Have they gone away from the system where you could play anywhere in mix and match fashion and still be in any region? Like, they might play both a South game and an East game in Portland?

They had that for a few years and I couldn't follow it. But I don't notice it being the case this year.

Similarly, what happened to the "pod system" where teams would be sent to a region closer to home to cut down on travel times and costs?
Well, for everybody except Arkansas I guess.

That's the same thing. The "pod system" meant any region could be playing anywhere, allegedly to keep teams "closer to home."

But I think it's defunct.

They probably put HI in Portland so they didn't have to tracel as far.

Is it fair for me to make fun of Texas for having to play a game Tuesday to get in the real tournament?

Fuck it, I don't really care if it is fair or not.  Still going to do it.

we'd have to take away your razorback fan card if you don't make fun of texas at every opportune moment.  when in doubt, make fun of them anyway.

A lot of words in the tweet.  It wasn't clear to me but why couldn't we be put in the East and Kansas in the West?  The writer wrote that the West was the only option for Arkansas.

Edit: I guess they say that Kansas is the higher 4 seed so the East is the closest regional to Kansas.  Lawrence is 1091 miles to Washington DC and 1565 miles to Portland.  Fuck the rules.

Either move the Sec tournament up a day where they can't screw the winner of the tournament or cancel it. I just noticed there are 4 SEC teams in the Midwest and none in the East. Maybe the selection committee expert could write explaining that next.

The issue isn't where, the issue is when. The rule should be if you play in a conference final on Sat, you play on Thur; if you played on Sun, you play on Fri. That's fair. Making a team that played on Sun play again on Thurs, PLUS have to travel over 1,000 miles isn't right no matter who is doing it.

yall acting like it will take all day to get to Portland. Don't they just fly direct on their plane or do they fly commercial?

they fly charter, and will leave tomorrow morning. travel will probably affect the coaches more than the players.

it's sec that insists on having the championship game on sunday, and it's why cal hates playing in it. the ncca doesn't have to change their seeding formula because the conference won't start the thing a day earlier.

Without getting overly into it I'd suspect there is a math problem to be worked out in order to do what you are advocating.

There are 68 spots, 31 automatic bids leaving 37 at-large bids. Selection Sunday had 5 auto bids yesterday punch their ticket and issued 3 of them for Thursday games. The seeding is what is going to really matter here. If we were say the #1 overall #4 seed maybe they would have given us a Friday game. IDK how that works but probably works something like that.

Barring common sense and understanding that there are four #4 seeds and I'm going to hazard 2 of them play on Thursday and 2 of them on Friday. I get it...Kansas lost on the 13th and will be fresh as a daisy come Friday. Would it have been a big deal to ship them assholes to Portland and us to San Diego? Probably not. Does anyone give a fuck up there? No

The main issue is the tv deals and our conference. We should be ending our tournament on a Friday. That would do two things. A. Make the SECT more competitive incentivizing competitive play by having a longer rest for the final teams competing. B. Gives the Selection committee ample opportunity to figure out how to fuck Arkansas. Hell by Sunday the committee might not even agree Arkansas is a state.
