Be nice if we had a hog icon for threads instead of the generic ones.
Schedule if, like me, you're pretty checked out...
1. North Alabama
2. @ Utah
3. Georgia
4. Tulsa
5. @ Texas A&M
6. Tennessee
7. @ Vanderbilt
BYE
8. Missouri
9. @ Auburn
10. South Carolina
11. @ Texas
12. LSU
I said 5 wins but I cannot find but 4 so we're definitely going bowling after 27 other teams turn down a invite.
I see 11 possible wins. Georgia will be tough. We get past them and 12 is a real chance.

3 wins maximum.
2 wins likely.
I want to be optimistic. I even put 6-6.
But I went a Memphis game last year and saw them barely beat a really really shitty team that had no talent or heart or effort or identity. So I am not sold on Silverfield until he Shows Me.
Quote from: mde114 on Aug 26, 2026, 10:00 AM3 wins maximum.

This is the correct answer
4 wins. auburn is in the same boat as us, new coach and high roster turnover. vandy is not projected to be very good.
Maybe the first time in my life I have ever predicted us to only win 4 games.
I'm optimistic...
I predicted 5-7. :-\
Hey hey
ho ho
it won't be no Cotton Bowl
3-9, best case. We leave the season wondering what the fuck we've gotten into with this coach, but at the same time not really blaming him for a woeful lack of talent... and optimistic that next year we can maybe almost make the country think we're going to sniff a bowl game if enough other teams decline.
Last I heard Utah isn't expected to be all that good but it's a road game. I think that's a high altitude road game at night...no fucking way we're winning that game.
I was optimistic and picked 4-8 but I expect 3-9.

I figure we lose that one. But we get a conference win somewhere along the line.

Love having a Vanderbilt on the schedule
4-8.
Beat N. Alabama and Tulsa
Two wins from among: Utah, Tennessee, Vandy, Missouri, Auburn, South Carolina.
Quote from: animal on Aug 26, 2026, 06:30 AMI said 5 wins but I cannot find but 4 so we're definitely going bowling after 27 other teams turn down a invite.
I did the same thing
Lose more. Win less. We are who we are.
I'm in the 4-8 crowd. I can see 5 wins but it's a brand new team with a new coach/system. We don't know what we have so hard to predict
Sure Wins:
N Alabama
Tulsa
Losses:
Georgia
A&M
Tennessee
Texas
LSU
Tossups. I think we get at least 2 out of these:
@Utah (thought about putting this in the sure losses category)
@Vandy
Mizzou
@Auburn
South Carolina
I didn't know I was the board optimist, but I said 5-7.
North Alabama: Win.
@ Utah: Win. Hogs win and "We gonna win 'em all!" and "Bring on Georgia!" are heard from the bandwagon fans.
Georgia: Loss. Georgia humiliates the Hogs. At home. The bandwagon axle is broken. "Fire the coach!" is shouted from bandwagon wreckage.
Tulsa: Win. A surprisingly large crowd shows up. So do the Hogs.
@ Texas A&M: Loss. A&M look wobbly in their opening games. The Hogs are the cure-all for the Ags.
Tennessee: Loss. A decent crowd watches the Vols win in the last few minutes.
@ Vanderbilt: Win. Hogs eek out a win.
BYE
Missouri: Loss. Hogs dominate everywhere but the scoreboard.
@ Auburn: Loss. Auburn is bad but manages to win a game at home.
South Carolina: Win. The Cocks flop on the road.
Texas: Loss. Even a mediocre TexasS rolls.
LSU: Loss. Yeah, not gonna happen.
The Tennessee and Missouri games are pivotal.
And if the Hogs go 0-fer in the SEC, this post will disapper and I never said any of this.
3 wins. I don't care enough to even look at the schedule to guess what games.
3.
UNA, Tulsa, and somebody overlooks us.
You people are pretty optimistic for a program that's in year one of rebuilding. though I'm struggling with coprophagia, haven't we been rebuilding our program for three straight gd decades now?
We will an unimaginable amount of games this year and as a result HY gives Silverfish an absurd new contract. They will then follow up the success with 3 win seasons in each of the next 5, leading to his termination and the process starting all over again.

Arkansas, the Winchester house of football.

So, initiate CSB....
A few seasons ago when they followed me around WMS as "superfan" of the game, I became good friends with the ESPN play by play guy who did the special. He and I text often. After the coaching firing/hiring carousel back in Jan/Feb, I texted him to ask his opinion. For what it's worth, this is a guy with no allegiances to any teams or whatever. He said that of the 3 coaches from the AAC who moved to the SEC, we got the best of the 3. He has been covering the AAC for a while. He told me he would not be surprised if we won 7. I'm like damn son, that's incredible. He also said he thought that Golesh will be a wash. So that's why I am going with 6-6.
Definite, absolute, no question about it losses: Texas, LSU, Georgia, Utah
Definite, absolute, no question about it wins: Tulsa, North Alabama
Teams I'm not even a bit afraid of who I think we might beat if we take care of the ball and get over the 1 score loss hump: South Carolina, Auburn, Missouri, Vanderbilt
Team who will probably beat us but if we can get some luck, we might sneak one out: Tennessee
Mystery team, in my opinion: Texas A&M
So I'll go wins: North Alabama, Tulsa, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Auburn, South Carolina; losses: Utah, Georgia, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Texas, LSU

Damn you for giving me hope.
For the record I don't think Utah belongs in the auto loss category. They lost a lot of talent and, probably more importantly, their head coach.
Programs like Utah (or Arkansas for that matter) rarely hire two good coaches in a row, much less three. Contrary to popular opinion, coaching is still the number one most important factor in a team's success.
4-8.
Honestly, anything worse than 3-9 or better than 6-6 would shock the hell out of me.
We have no feel for this staff, roster, or the rest of the league. I guess that's life in the landscape of modern college football.
I don't see four wins.
If we're good enough for 6 wins with this schedule, that means we probably should have had 8 wins.
So we're probably all going to bitch some either way.
SEC pregame show agreed with the woopig. 3 wins max.
I'm now definetly one board with 10 wins minimum.
4-8 or 5-7.
Swing game will be Utah. Win that and 5 is possible. Lose that and 4 is max because I don't see us winning more than two SEC games.
I'm drinking the kool-aid. 6-6.
How are you sunshine pumpers feeling after today's "product" on the field?
11-1 regular season.
