I have a friend that co-op with a half dozen people to have a suite at Baum. They have had if for years. They were notified by the UofA of the "new deal" a couple of weeks ago. According to him the new deal is:
*increase from $20,000 to $40,000 per year for the suite
*increase in ticket prices by 40%
*AND a one-time donation of $490,000.00
If it had not come straight from someone I've known forever I would call bullshit.
Anyone else hearing of these types of numbers?
Not that close to the program. Those are astronomical numbers.

of course, this is the same man who said the new naming rights deal was 13 years when it was 14 so he's a little fuzzy at math and/or numbers.
Gotta get funds to pay for upcoming football staff buyouts. Not hiring the right guy and going cheap is more expensive in the long run.
He gives the finger to long time suite holders for the ultra rich that won't even go the games. Maybe instead he could have a successful football program and increase baseball stadium capacity and make more money that way but he knows he's on the way out and doesn't give a fuck.

Sad state of affairs. There's a ton of old dedicated baseball fans that have sat thru good weather and bad for years that are now outbid. Pathetic.
In my friends instance it cost the UofA several football and basketball donations. They all said fuck it.
