It certainly sounds like the woopig consensus (and the fan base consensus) is that it's time for Hunter Yurachek to go.
What's the counterargument?
I think essentially it's that he has done well as the ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT director, which is not the same thing as the football team. "All-sports championships." Women's sports. Basketball. Baseball. He would point to literally everything except football being in a good position.
Is that enough of a counterweight to moving from mid-SEC football program to absolute worst SEC football program? And one of the very worst Power 5?
Is he the Football Director or the Athletic Director? Can you have success as an Arkansas AD without having football success?
The only counter argument is apparently "don't piss off Cal"
But I doubt Cal is that serious with his support. He ranks above Hunter and basketball has its own financial arrangement.
Dipshit was gifted Cal and he can't take any credit at all for baseball success.
I'll give him credit for Muss and Diefel. That's it.

The hits keep coming.
You don't eff up football this badly. Any other sport could have more grace.
It's a miracle he survived this long. Hate it when the media blames the fans because very few fanbases would have tolerated bottoming out and more than once. This would not have happened at any other place in the SEC.
I don't understand the local media guys. Is access to a 2-10 program worth the price of having to sell a shitty leadership team?
Has anybody read this?

Those Silverfield quotes came from a radio interview on a Memphis sports talk show on Wednesday.
Looks like HY sold Silverfield a bill of goods for his first season. Kind of set up to fail it seems like. I definitely will give RS the benefit of the doubt this year. Looks like next year the NIL might kick in more.

Arkansas Football's Communication Failure
When Sam Pittman was whisked out the door and replaced with Silverfield, athletic director Hunter Yurachek touted the "top-down alignment of a new financial commitment from our board of trustees" that would make the Razorbacks competitive in this new regime.
"This financial commitment will push us to the top half in key SEC items such as our assistant coaches pool, our strength and conditioning staff, our support staff pool, and our talent acquisition through revenue sharing and legitimate NIL," Yurachek said at Silverfield's introductory press conference in early December.
Yurachek was bullish over this team's potential, boldly claiming in July that the Hogs were "going to win a heck of a lot more games this year than we did last year."
In an interview with Memphis radio host Gabe Kuhn on Wednesday, though, Silverfield let it slip that his hands were tied in his first offseason at Arkansas.
"When I got here, the salary — I hate to say that, I shouldn't say that — but the amount of money for the 2026 roster was already set," Silverfield said. "It is what it is, and there was no changing that."
"Some of these schools will say, 'Okay, hey, we'll keep raising the money for this roster even though we spent money we didn't have,'" he continued. "Whereas we say, 'Okay, here's the money you have set aside and that's what you have.'"
Given that most of Silverfield's fast and furious fundraising efforts happened after Arkansas had already signed most of its transfer class in the January portal window, it makes sense that those funds wouldn't be accessible until the 2027 season.
Fans would likely have understood this dilemma if there was clear communication up front to temper expectations — nobody was expecting Silverfield's first season to be amazing anyway.
Instead, Yurachek — and Silverfield, to a certain extent — drummed up a false sense of optimism. It seems, in hindsight, they were trying to put lipstick on a pig.
And boy did that bubble burst in a hurry.

Eh, might as well throw in the media as well for good measure.
Has the current Ad ever presented or mentioned a plan or future vision during his tenure?
Learfiled got the naming rights
Tyson got cal
Hunter hired muss or was it Stephens?
His messaging sucks and the fact he killed tennis only to see them raise the money in a week to reinstate it should have served as the board's review.
The false bill of goods Silverware might have been sold is only as irritating as his screen offense that can't run a screen play.
Wrong thread
When he let Pittman negotiate a high salary and a big buyout, I was done with him.
There are realtors in Elkins with better negotiating skills than that clown.
He had 100% of the leverage. Sam Pittman had two options. Take the deal, maybe get a modest increase in salary, or GTFO. Hunter rolled over and took it up the booty and acted like it was a good thing.
Not a single program in the country was going to hire Pittman away from us.
Yurachek fought NIL rather than embrace it. Pittman, and now Silverfield, are shit coaches, and nobody is throwing good money after bad. Every single financial issue in the athletic department is downstream of Yurachek's inability to hire good coaches. Now, he's shaking down non-revenue sports like baseball to try to make up for the financial failure of the football program, and damaging fan support in the process with the brazenness of it all.
He's the worst AD in the SEC, and nothing is improving as long as he is here.

The problem I have with your statement is that it assumes things we don't know, or at least that I don't know. Inherent in your statement is the idea that he didn't try to get a replacement for the naming rights until it expired. I don't know that. I doubt you do either.
Certainly it is true that the naming rights expired, but I don't pin that on Yurachek until I know he didn't make an honest effort to prevent that from happening.
don't forget that the tweeting AD was hired by chancellor steinmart between his s&m sessions with students.
The prior naming agreement with the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation officially expired at the end of June 2024, so basically now 3 seasons (until next season) has that one of if not the largest revenue potential sources on campus been a nada while the AD has whining about a lack of money.
Is there another american sports stadium that has gone as long between sponsor deals? Do they keep the old sponsor signage up after a deal expires?
The BOT is just as guilty for allowing this incompetence to continue, they have an athletics committee so why are they having the System President do a review? are the 4 pro-hunter votes afraid they will lose power or control?
Also, isn't the whole point of the Razorback Foundation to raise money? Can they not hire people who can go raise money or have they be neutered by the dumb tweeter?

My goodness dude. That's a huge revenue source to have just sit there generating $0.

I think you're just not willing to see how terrible the man has been at his job for several years now. It is hard to believe someone in his position could fumble that badly. Like I said, the negotiation piece has been laughably bad.
At one point we were in contention for Kiffin and he couldn't get that done. Our trajectory vs Ole Miss have been completely opposite over the past six years. They actually broke through to become a top SEC football program, while we sank to the absolute fucking bottom.
They have every disadvantage that our fans have been told to parrot that we have. Small state that they share with another SEC team, smaller stadium, smaller alumni base, basically no big corporate names attached to their alumni. They have a great athletic director who cannot sleep at night if he isn't getting the best for Ole Miss.
Until we have some equivalent to Keith Carter, we won't see any improvements here.

For god's sake, I understand the revenue aspect. Maybe he couldn't find anyone to pay a fair price, but was trying. But of course you assume the worst.
And I might add, with apparently no real knowledge.
He knew years in advance when the stadium naming rights would expire.
It's now been years since the stadium naming rights have expired.
Maybe several prospects fell through, maybe it is a collective eff up, but there was plenty of time to figure out something and the stadium still isn't named.

Do or do not. There is no try.
It goes to pattern of behavior. Yurachek has failed at most of his job, so it's not only possible but likely that he either A) failed to try to secure naming rights or B) tried but did so in the worst way possible or with the least amount of effort possible.
In my world, there is evidence or there is no evidence. In this case we have evidence he didn't get it done, but proving why he didn't based on past practice is very hard to do, and you haven't done it. Simply put, we don't know why he didn't. I would like to know before I assume the worst.

In my mind he's done nothing to earn the benefit of the doubt.

Ninety percent of the people on this board seem to assume Walmart, J.B. Hunt, and Tyson should carry us. Always the first named sources when the subject of money comes up. Of course, those are public companies traded on the stock exchange so there are limitations on what they can actually do. It's actually the owners or founders of those companies that really donate the money (not including the advertising money, like patches on jerseys, emblems on the field, etc.)
No one ever asks why the owners of other big Arkansas companies don't "step up," as the saying on here often goes. Where are the Stephens's , Simmons Bank company people, the Everett Car Dealership people, the McClarty's, the Centennial Bank people, the Bank OzK people, and any one of a dozen other Arkansas based companies that could be named? Many others fall in this category, the Rutledges (First Security bank).
Well first, many of them already give in a big way, like the Stephens family. They just don't want the publicity. But not all. Seems to me like that level of contributor would be a huge target, but we never hear about them.
I just don't think we ought to be sitting around waiting for Walmart, Tyson, and JB Hunt to bail us out.

That's exactly why Ole Miss has passed us. They didn't rely on those corps because they have none. They already had the donor network in place from before when it was done under the table. By comparison we always relied on people tied to those corporations.
It also seems that every other program in the SEC when it comes to coaches and NIL is commit the money then find the money whereas Arkansas is find the money then commit what we have.
Everyone else in the SEC is driving Escalades and G Wagons and Arkansas is sitting ting there shaking its head and clucking tis tongue at them about how much debt they are in.
Silverfield said as much the other day in his interview with that Memphis station. He said that despite what was said about increasing NIL, the budgt for this past year was set and when he was hired and he wasn't allowed to increase it.
We have always been penny wise and pound foolish.
I can understand having a "budget" but it still just seems like amateur hour compared to whatever the fuck the rest of the SEC is doing. That's the real tell here. We aren't keeping up with South Carolina, Kentucky, Vandy, among others. This state when united could be doing much better but that's going to have to come from many more than just the big companies and that's always been the rub here. The Biddy story really doesn't track with me. I would think going outside the state wouldn't deter in-state companies from getting butt hurt. It would make it worse. You open it up because you either understand what the market should bare or wanted to set a new standard...not rent out the naming rights at a poors price. Naming rights may not be the boon it was perceived to be years ago.

The numbers they give us just don't make sense...ever.
When we were first clamoring for Pittman to be fired in 2023 they told us that we couldn't afford the $15MM buyout, which was to be paid $3MM/year over five years. This was at the same time where the SEC had just signed a new media rights deal that was adding about $30MM in additional revenue per year for each school. It didn't make sense then and it doesn't make sense now that they couldn't scrape up 10% of the new money coming in to keep the program from falling off the face of the earth.
I've heard and read in multiple places but haven't yet found confirmation of this, but supposedly one of the things we did after Covid was start paying off Long's Folly aka the north end zone project ahead of time. If true that's yet another sign of mismanagement...you don't pay off lower interest bonds or loans at a time when rates are higher. Again with the disclaimer that the previous anecdote may not be true, but if it was it was even sillier for Yurachek to act superior to other schools who borrowed against future media rights payments to kick start NIL or solve their coaching problems when he was sacrificing both current and future success to make such a shortsighted decision in retiring the debt early.
I think our funding structure is mired in the 1990s. We have to pay coaches with donations, not athletic department funds mostly. And our fundraising is set up for that and not NIL. In fact NIL directly competes with the Razorback Foundation.
We need someone to take the reins and make the changes on the state political level to make us competitive.

This is why I have suggested for a while now that we should merge the Foundation back into the athletic department. We could likely save some money on administrative expenses for one. But the main reason is that it would get all fundraising back under one umbrella. Donors shouldn't have to give money to the RF for tickets, then to another entity for NIL. And NIL contributions should go towards ticket priority if they haven't made that change already (if they have I haven't seen it).

It needs to lean further that way, unless it means baseball is getting way more.
Those two sports, with a few bones thrown to softball and golf to keep the Title IX wolves at bay, need to get the lion's share for the foreseeable future.

Yes, but we aren't getting a good return. Kentucky is right there and they have been consistently better even though they were bad enough to get rid of a coach.
Arkansas can do both and we should be both. We're not asking to be Bama. We're asking to be better than Vandy and Kentucky for starters.

I mean from the top to the bottom, from the janitors and equipment men to the jerk offs on the BOT that meddle in the Athletic Department, and every single person that touches the program....flushed and replaced by people that don't just WANT to win but are obsessed with it.
None of this shit where someone in marketing wears Utah gear and people grin and wink, excuse it. That would become unthinkable. All the money in the world won't help an organization that only pays lip service to winning.
Of course, this won't happen. Too much entrenched ego and petty power. We are a dead program, and only a wholesale change will give us a chance to be decent again, and that appears to be an impossibility.
Ok...cool. Home BancShares Inc owns Centennial Bank both head quartered in Conway, AR so I stand corrected. I thought the Florida company was who bought them out. I still bank with them even though they are a fairly shitty bank to deal with the last few years.
Quote from: vegashog on Sep 20, 2026, 08:32 PMper biddy, on more than one occasion, they had a couple of arkansas corps that were willing to secure the naming rights but couldn't get past the pissing contest that involved boosters who said they would pull their support if this guy or that guy got the deal.
payboard mod said it was central arkansas folks and seemed like the governor tried to get involved. at that point the university started looking outside the state.
And things like this are the primary responsibility of the AD. Texas Tech alums are a competitive lot but they've become unified to drive the program hard. A&M alums rally round the Corps goofy as they are they pony up the cash.
It's yuris job to be the Don and settle all matters of disagreement to secure money from all of them instead of just letting it all go away. The stadium name is pure stupidity and a for cause fireable offense. It's ridiculous. And it's not about securing nil money from public corporations but those who have been enriched by them. The other element is reenergizing the nonalum fan base. The sec is fueled mostly by fans who never set foot on campus except maybe to go to a game. Years of ineptitude have murdered ours.

I'll go ahead assume the worst because of the multiple public examples of HY being a terrible negotiator. Its called pattern recognition.
Letting Kiffin get away. Pumping up Pittman's salary and buy-out when he literally had no leverage. Just crazy shit.

I seem to remember the main reason we ended up with Pittman in 2019 was because for two straight years, Hunter was going around constantly saying that losing (being bad at your job) was a reason to be fired for cause and not be given a buyout. It scared away a lot of good up and coming coaches at the time. So, I really hope Hunter is not a hypocrite and will refuse any buyout owed to him when he is fired for simply being the worst athletic director in college sports.

I don't know, make Hooten Dale or Bazz the AD and put all decisions including hiring and firing, personnel, salaries etc. in the hands of a general manager.
Football is too important to be in the hands of a generalist. Make the AD a fund raising and glad handing position with the real power going to the coaches and general managers.

Why did they need to put a new video board in the indoor practice facility?
So instead of spending on players, the AD spent money on
1) Indoor practice facility video board
2) New grass in football stadium

4)New sound system in football stadium

Well, we run the athletic department like making revenue is the point instead of winning. He has done a good job at that probably. We are a cheap school. We can't get out of our own way.
If Urban Meyer called us tomorrow and said, "My golf buddy, John, has talked me into it. I'll coach Arkansas but I need $15 million a year." We wouldn't do it. Nevermind that a coach like that with the excitement and winning he would bring would be worth twice that. No, we'd worry we couldn't pay him and worry about Silverfield's buyout and all that.
So, our NIL budget is always going to be a year behind everybody else. This retardation is reaching galactic proportions. If Silverfield came here and immediately started working his ass off getting donations to only be told, "Teehee, this money will go towards 2027. Thanks for helping the U of A look fiscally responsible", then I actually feel bad for him. If this is Razorback Football Armageddon, then I hope Bo and Chuck get caught in the whirlwind. Both dipshits have been net negatives for the program and both fucking suck. The day Paul Eels died was tragic because we lost a good radio play by play guy, and it sentenced us to decades of Chuck Barrett. I have never listened to a Razorback Football game on the radio since Paul died.

I don't know, I could if the statements about RS not being able to use money he had raised in December on NIL because we had already budgeted NIL this year are true.
Not that Sam and Petrino couldn't visit recruits at all but that maybe HY made them rigidly adhere to a budget and once it was used wouldn't allow any adjustments so that maybe there were some recruits we got in on late or who needed some additional visits who went unvisited because HY wouldn't turn loose of the company card.

Some of you will get this from Heart Break Ridge (Clint Eastwood in the 80s)...there's a segment where the commander is telling Clint to fill out the his request and send it thru the proper chain of command. Clint says something like I shouldn't have to be filling out fucking reports for things we should already have.
Anyway that's circling in my mind as I thinking about HY's "budget" but also I'll come to his defense somewhat that likely there's someone above him that's forcing his hand and that's the real reason he's not be fired. Someone above him needs to see the inside of a dumpster.
I think there is a picture of HY that is forming if you want to see it. He is one of these rigid guys who is incapable or unwilling to deviate from a plan.
Remember when we didn't hire Kiffin because he came back at the last minute for another $500k after Hunter felt like there was a deal? Relative chicken feed when compared against the contract and what was at stake for the program. But HY let him walk over it. Briles left over a similar deal. Remember his big spiel about incentive laden contracts? And why is it every coach not named John Calipari seems to eventually get frustrated with him and hire Sexton?
I think he is one of these penny pinching eggheads who is completely inflexible in a conference full of seat of your pants cowboys willing to max out the credit card on a moment's notice.

Does Hunter get fired Sunday
Or
Does he survive to have another interview behind the on3 paywall Monday?
If we lose today, I think he's fired tomorrow.
Otherwise, sometime before Xmas
Should have been fired long ago. 9 years here, so many mistakes and inadequacies we've repeated the talking points over and over. Our football program ranks lowly if not last in the conference in many measureables year after year, both on and off the field, with little or no movement. Simply (and objectively) put, Arkansas does not belong there. It's not hard to find another AD, it doesn't have to be HY or no one. This is not a small program and no one's getting screwed over or an unfair shake except the fans.
But regardless at this point, there's so much negative press and toxicity, I don't see how he survives too much longer.
Given the opportunity to make the wrong decision... University is going to give us a "be careful what you wish for" replacement AD.

Saw HY on the sideline after the game.
First of all, he's a small dude. I thought he was a lot bigger than he actually he is. He's probably only 5'10, 175.
Second of all, he didn't seem elated, but he did seem relieved. I think he knew if they had lost this game that he would probably have been packing his bags sooner than later.
If they somehow luck into a SEC win or two, he'll survive. Unless they truly have no confidence in his leadership anymore.

My question is HOW can they still have ANY confidence in his leadership. Which calls to question, yet again, the confidence in THEIR leadership. Further proof that we have serious systemic problems from the very top on down. We probably also have structural, policy, and legal hurdles in the way of success.
Hunter is gone at the end of next year when his current contract expires. Sooner if we can find a quality replacement. Dead man walking. He knows it. The BOT evaluation is just cover.

And Wommack supposedly was going to be able to retain Bobby as OC.
We already knew HY is a god damn idiot so this onslaught of revelations is just slop at this point. Also purely on resume I don't know that Eric Morris or Kane Wommack were that big of a selling point for people to be crying in their beer about over now. Good odds if any of those guys were hired they'd still be 2-3...maybe 3-2 at best. That being said I probably would have taken a very hard look at Morris or Wommack...both seem to have some upside to them. I've never really gotten the vibe that RS is very ambitious, hiring him was basically going to be his "I made it" moment and that's the end of that.
As has always been the case with HY football decisions we were competing against air for our hire. We got to get this right? I remember something like that being said...well they let the wrong idiot get to have his pick. At the time and even more so now I felt like the upper leadership wanted to stay far way from this hire. That's the leadership on the hill.
Those other two may not have been world beaters by resume, but we've done the underachieving AAC coach before and knew what to expect.
I love the thought process:
I dont want to wait for this coach who is good enough to be in the CFP. I'll just hire the coach who isn't.

I know I am probably alone on this board in this opinion, but I think it's a perfectly reasonable position to take that the athletic department is in good shape as to all sports except football (women's basketball might be an exception), and a D-1 worst football program is acceptable in light of all the other sports.

The only problem is football is the only true revenue generator for the AD, so getting that wrong is bad enough to outweigh being fine or good in all other sports.
Let's not act like the whole athletic program was a dumpster fire or even sideways when Hunter was hired, but football has gotten worse. Diefel and Hale were long hires whose success he didn't see.
Women's hoops is as bad in the sec now as football is and that is on hunter's watch.

How did Lawson get to the board president when he was an appointee to fill boyer's seat? Is that predetermined on when that term rolls off?
Stienmart hired him and then he got run off when the s&m stuff surfaced which is fitting considering all the butt stuff and other bondage the ad has done to the football program.

Track natties pad the Learfield standings every year. We're never that low in the rankings simply due to that. Being pretty good in baseball and a resurgence in basketball is enough to keep us in the Learfield top 15 since track has had so many men's and women's top 5 finishes. The Learfield shit doesn't mean much.
We are in the hole we are in because of poor decisions by management.
If the athletic department was a publicly traded company the shareholders would have voted long ago to replace Yurachek.
Fans are expected to invest, but don't get a vote. That frustration is why you see people talking about boycots and airplanes, etc.

Personally what we're seeing looks like gross malpractice from the coaching staff...no SEC team should look as bad as these guys do fundamentally. So based on the limited sample size I'm not optimistic this staff in it's present configuration is going to look all that much better with more expensive players. More likely we'll over pay and underwhelm. We already are doing that but just imagine what it looks liek with an additional 5 to 10 million. What's that mean exactly 5,6,7 wins at best?
Both need to go. Sooner than later.

We have simply become a place where coaches who aren't worth a shit, come to get paid.
Why? Just don't show up and make a statement

We need a football only AD then
Hire a football GM and put him in charge of football.

Has anyone else done this? If not, don't expect Arkansas to take the lead on anything. We fall in line and do what our peers do after they do it. We're always A day late and a dollar short.

I think the University has accepted the fact that we cannot compete in football in this conference. They're ok with cashing those SEC checks and getting our ass handed to us in football. Basketball is king as long as Tyson continues writing those checks.
I mean you have to at least make it competitive. We should at least be getting 2 to 4 SEC wins a season...that's a fairly low bar. We aren't even keeping up with Vandy or Kentucky who are also basketball schools.
Man, I got over 50 years of being a Razorback football fan. I enjoy basketball and baseball but football is my sport. If we're not going to compete in football, I'd just as soon go find another program to support. This shit is just depressing.
I'll go find a screen door.

If the options are hitting a ceiling of 9 wins in football or having S16 or better in hoops and constant CWS trips in baseball, give me the latter.
I think the administration would actually settle for 6 wins every now and then.
I want Cal to keep doing his thing, but of any of the coaches on the hill rn, I think he'd make the best AD. He's a politician/basketball coach.

I think we all have the eternal optimism of being at least good in the 3 major sports. I could live with bottoming out at 5 wins a year in football. Right now it feels like we're light years from 5 wins.

We are nowhere near a nine win ceiling.
But yeah, I'm somewhat numb to the fact that we haven't tried to compete in football since 4/7/2012.
So, why should a football fan that is only mildly interested in basketball stick around? We all agree, Arkansas isn't serious about competing.
I think a lot of fans are coming to that realization. The fact that the whole fanbase turned on RS 2 games in says a lot. Frustration is at it's highest. If nothing changes, you're gonna see a lot of people check out.

It is and with no resolution in sight. The buyout for RS will keep him here at least another year or two. We have a billionaire donor encouraging anyone with $10M to donate to our football NIL to step forward. We haven't fired HY. So doing that and hiring a new AD that can make a difference will take time. I feel like the situation is even more dire than we realize. I hope I'm wrong.
I refuse to accept being even a 5 win football team.
We were rolling with Muss and Sam in 2021. If Sam hadn't been such a lazy slob we could have entrenched ourselves as a perennial top 25 team that averaged 7-10 wins a year while basketball continued to climb back to the top.

That's a great interview and the way an AD should look at his job. He was definitely successful in hiring football coaches. Unless you are at one of the true powerhouses, you should always be prepared for your coach to jump to something bigger. It sounds like he was always looking for the next coach in case his current coach was able to jump to a bigger job.

Several people who helped build the program, make Baum Stadium what it is today, and who were donating bigly to baseball when it was George Cole Field got told they'd have to cough up a cool half million $$ to get any box next season, and were not given the choice to stay in the box they'd had for two decades.
It was a shitty move by a shitty AD. We have no money because Yurachek sucks. His ineptitude is pulling the entire athletic department into a death spiral.
The perfect candidate would be someone like Doug McMillon. Running the athletic department would be a breeze after running Walmart.
He's a UA grad, wicked smart (if slightly woke) and would be a direct line to getting the Waltons back involved in a meaningful way.
There isn't any point in trying to apply logic to any of this. We'll go Budget rental AD on the next hire since HY probably gave himself a fat buyout.
Budget rental because Houston Nutt will do the job for cheap.

The points system initiated by Long was supposed to be the answer to this. It was a way to balance lifetime versus annual giving. During the most recent basketball reallocation they posted a calculator that would tell you your current standing among donors both overall in your class. It would also tell you what a hypothetical donation or annual increase would do to your position all else equal.
That doesn't completely answer your question I know, but it's one thing they've done to try. Truthfully I can see both sides of it. The big issue I have with the current baseball reseating (and the basketball before it even though I wasn't a ticket holder at the time) is that it didn't give any option for keeping current seating. There was no "increase your giving by this amount and you keep your seats" like we had in the previous baseball plan back in 2022. The only option was "give this much more and you'll get an earlier selection time." And of course there's the problem of not letting everyone know until shortly before the season starts, and after we had already made our pledges (although you can always increase them). I'm sure a lot of affected people would have completely stopped giving had they known they were going to lose their preferred seats and/or boxes.

I don't get the complaining about this. Many of us have complained about the terrible in-game atmosphere compared to other SEC teams. This is actually a rare occasion where they appear to be spending money in the hopes of future return in increased ticket sales or retention.

Is the argument that we could have spent that money on another tackle or a better QB? What does that do? Take us from 3 wins to 4 or 5?
I heard a lot of complaints from my brother and some other friends in town last week that the stadium decided to install those fucking scan your cc and then grab and go type shops in the stadium now similar to the amp does for drinks and it all went haywire and stopped working the other week. If they are the same as the ones at Baum they are a major time saver and don't add in tips as there is no server there.
Again this is complaining about what sounds like a temporary glitch in something that when it's working right fixes a major complaint about the in-person game experience.
the football stadium upgrades don't come from the same pot the money for the players does.
they came from the infrastructure budget so that argument makes no sense.

. I told them to bump my donation from $2k to $3k a year and the dumbfucks never processed it and stuck me in the upper deck last year. I'm just going to get tickets on stub hub when I feel like going. Sitting in the upper deck all year and looking at my empty seats all year was the final straw for me. They won't see another dime from me as long as this clown shoes AD is around.
So how do other schools handle it? I know winning cures a lot, but we seem to have more than our fair share of empty seats. You'd never notice if you believed the university's reported attendance.

I don't get it either. Most, if not all, SEC teams already had the light thing. Our fans bitched we didn't have it. We get lights and they bitch we spent money on it. So dumb.
I was at the Vandy game and sat in the Vandy section. They had a light show between the 3rd and 4th qtr. The fans got into it. I asked some Vandy fans if their lights were new and they told me this was their 2nd year with them.

This was a big part of it. Some learned after the fact that different donors sharing the same suites could combine their lifetime giving totals. The whole thing was rushed and handled poorly. Announce it a year in advance. Hell, announce it 6 months in advance, and give people time to plan how to financially approach it. This was a 40-day window to make a huge financial decision. Fans could have combined their suites and cut ticket numbers per donor, and a lot of people would have at least tolerated it. They managed to piss all over some of the baseball programs most loyal longtime fans. People who could afford it, but said fuck it at least partially due to how Yurachek handled it.

The 40 day notice is bad management and just bad business. At least with the information we have.
You make unpopular moves and raise prices in increments right, for example subscription and streaming services.
Disney streaming started out at $7 now its $21.50. 200% increase since 2019.

It seems purposeful to pull the rug from long time mid-level donors. Notwithstanding many of them understandably gone for good, if there's not a herd of ultra rich donors ready to replace them, it's unfathomably stupid and short sighted business-wise.

The law of supply and demand says to build a 2nd deck, would be a no brainer with additional suites. Should have done that instead of the north end zone at football
