Overall I had concerns about the staff from the jump...it looked like a TEMU staff. It looked like we are too cheap to hire good people or good people aren't willing to come to this dumpster fire.
When it comes time to clean house I really do think they need to consider who are the common denominators. Who's been here thru it all? I don't care if it's the water boy staff, the secretaries, whoever has been here thru it all...needs to get packing. WHY? Because it's about culture. If you have the same losers giving loser vibes and then that trickles down into every fabric of the program then you'll get losers. Now honestly I think we all realize it's not the secretary but hopefully you get my point there's going to be administrative people in place that's probably been here for most if not all of this shit and still looking for the root causes of suck and it's been them the whole time. You can't have morons be the ones in charge of hiring ,setting policy, setting budgets etc
It's pretty clear for anyone paying attention their goal has not be to win in football it's been to do well enough to keep the fans off their asses and boost basketball. NIL presented an opportunity to get basketball right but it's been at the expense of other sports clearly. We have probably the worst women's basketball program in the SEC with a fan base that loves basketball there's no excuse for that. We have a great fan base for baseball but you take away Van Horn's NIL budget...clipping him by nearly a half million dollars. What do you think is going to happen there? What happens if we win a natty in basketball this season and we're stuck with HY's hubris for another decade? Would we take that trade? I don't think the program can afford losing in football for very damn long.

We've been outscored 122-34 against P4 opponents. A&M put up as many points last night as we did all year against P4 teams. I would not at all be shocked if we have multiple games this year where we're shut out.
And it could've been a lot worse. UGA threw the ball 12 times. They could've named their score

This helps explain the maniacal allegiance we fans pledge to the sports programs of the state's flagship university in good times and bad but particularly in those rare times when our teams elicit a sense of pride.
Arkansas fans do not deserve the national laughingstock that our football program has become.

I blame silverfield in that he should have had enough introspection to know that he didn't have the chops for this job. RS has had enough time to adapt. He is 100% a major part of the problem as he can't coach at this level. It is clear as day.
His lack of coaching during games is mind boggling. Saban would have had an aneurysm if he had 12 guys on the field for a FG attempt. QB threw a pick, Kiffen would have pulled him aside and told him he's retarded and he's gonna bench him if he can't unretard himself. Our coach is having a staring contest with the other sideline.
It's not a bad strategy...take the life changing money. Do fuck all for a couple seasons...get that bag of buy out money for the next years. At worst he's back coaching Sun Belt in 4 years or retired early from the trauma of having to coach stand on the sidelines for Arkansas.

I'll say, this last decade+ has been great for my blood pressure during football weekends. I'm not anxious before the games and not really stressed during the games and not high or upset after the games. Just meh.......all weekend. Win or lose. No real hope or optimism and not really upset either.
When Petrino was coach, I would be so on edge before the games I couldn't stand it starting about Wednesday and then during the game, I would be yelling and so into it, I would feel like I played in the fucking game by the time it was over. Then if we won, the dopamine hit would last until the middle of the next week and if we lost, I would be in a shit mood and pissed off all fucking week. It felt GOOD though, but it was a rollercoaster. This...nothing. No peaks, just allllll valley.
I scroll on my phone for most of the game. I admire the folks who actually go to the games. Especially the ones who go to the away games.
Watched most of the Chiefs game yesterday. Looks like we might be good this season but wide outs dropping out they might have go get Odell or Tyreek. It was a real shame...Thornton was really coming on. So anyway...that's the first real football game I've watched nearly all of in a couple years. I don't even watch the Razorbacks games for the comedy of how bad we are...it's just sad. When you keep plugging in new players, new coaches, and getting the same results (or worse) with the same administration it's pretty telling where the problems begin. But do blame the fans.
Before the season started, someone asked me how I thought the Hogs would do. I just simply said I am waiting on basketball season to start. It is rare if I watch a full AR football game in the last 3-4 seasons. When people ask me who they play this week, I just say they disbanded the program.
