We didn't have Matt Jones in 05 but we did have DMAC, Felix, and Hillis. Sometimes I think about how we were only one year off from having all four of those guys on the same team but Nutt would have fucked it up anyway.
DJ's 4th and 5 postgame show was great.
His and Grant Cook's insights and breakdown podcasts remind me of Petrino's weekly TV shows. He really is a gift to fans and a breath of fresh air in the cesspool of embarrassing dipshittery and shameless water carrying (looking at you, Chuck and Bo) that is our state media.
DJ and Grant have been talking all season about Kitler's struggles at center and highlighted how we got better last week when Kash Courtney came in. He started last night and we did much better in the run game, especially inside, and ended up with 187 rushing yards.
The center makes the line calls.
GT's has been a disaster, too. We (GT) would probably be 4-2 with a better one.
While it's nice waking up Sunday morning not wanting to kick a small animal, I'll take this win with a grain of salt. Vandy were missing a lot of guys and were a bottom feeder in the SEC as well.

100% agree. The one thing I think we should hang our hats on is that Vandy is a very well-coached team, and they've tasted success recently.

Vandy's Stadium is probably the worst in the SEC that I have ever been to so far after I stopped going to WMS. The concessions were fine, better than ours, but there were few bathrooms on the vistor's side. There were lines coming out of the men's bathroom.
Their seating is bad. If you had seats on the bottom that leads to the entrances, there was no rail and people going back and fourth would constantly block your view. There was a group of Hog fans that didn't last the first quarter and left. Even the Vandy fans that decided to seat there, because they were too much of pussies to kick people out of their seats, hated it and left at half-time.
Never saw the stadium before the renovations, but that was not money well spent. The south end zone looked like two different designs. Probably designed by the same guy who did the Ranger's new stadium in Arlington.
Glad I crossed that stadium off finally.
Broadway in Nashville is still great. Hattie B's was better than Prince's.
The depth we had beyond our hurt guy was better than the depth they were missing. Whatever, we got us a win. Silverfish just might be the coach to get us into competition one day for that bowl-granting 6th win. Beat Missouri in 2 weeks and I'll consider giving him his real name back. Chaggie would somehow bring the season's worst offensive performance after a bowl week, so this is the current guy's chance to at least look better than him.
Man. I'm going to be honest. I did not expect us to win that game. I thought their QB Curtis would have his coming out party, and we would lose by at least 10.
Instead, we were balanced offensively, won the TO battle, got a defensive score, and generally played clean. Not fancy, workmanlike.

Good to see Antonio Jordan making plays, Cam Settles get 2 TDs and Braylon have success. These Arkansas kids can be the ones who bring this back, and give us a good nucleus next year.

They also had the best TE in the country last year as well. He was freaking good. Won The Mackey Award.

Hootie gave DMAC on carry against Vandy in 2005 and said he was scared to put him in because he was a freshman in his first SEC game because he didn't know how he would react.
Then the dumb coach started him the very next week against USC, arguable one of the best teams in NCAA history.
So, 1 carry against a 5-6 Vandy, starts against one of the best teams ever. Makes sense.
