Two bogeys for Eldrick  ;D  on the start today.  Of course when you open the page on ESPN his fucking face is the first thing you see.

Max Homa is playing lights out but who cares according to mindless non-golf fans.

You might want to change the title of this thread. Seems like people only want to talk about Tiger and not the other golfers. Hmmmmm

Click on espn, or cbssports right now and see who's face pops up.  It damn sure isn't anyone under par right now.

Now back to golf:

It will be interesting to see if DeChambeau can stay hot again today.  He is liable to shoot -5 or +5.  Scheffler is pretty much unflappable though.  I couldn't believe his second shot stayed up out of Rae's Creek yesterday but that is what happens when you got it going on.

Speith with a 9 on 15....

I went to espn.com. There was a live stream showing Max Homa. Right below that was a picture of DeChambeau. I saw no picture of Tiger.

I get it. You guys don't like him. I just think it is funny that you come here to complain that nobody is talking about the other golfers, they're only talking about Tiger. Then you guys ONLY TALK ABOUT TIGER! (well, you did throw in some talk about other golfers)

I'm interested in Tiger.  I think he's the goat.  I think he still has one or two in him.  I think it's funny that the coverage of him gets under you guys' skin so much.  I guess none of you are old enough to remember golf on TV in the 80's.  Nicklaus would be 12 shots back on a Sunday, and we'd be subjected to 10 minutes of glove tugging, pants pulling, toweling off the grip, and then and hour of him standing over the ball before he swung.  Golf coverage has always been this way.  Whosoever bringeth the eyeballs shall be the one on camera.

As far as the coverage, the guys who bolted to LIV don't interest me.  I don't hate Scheffler, but I'm not a fan.  And they're not showing the guys I root for.  So yeah, give me all the El Tigre you can.  I'd rather watch him shoot 74 than watch some of these other guys shoot 68.

Oh I am plenty old enough to remember having to watch Jack sweat his way around and wonder what Stadler or Watson were doing on another hole.

I want to see the leaderboard.  If Eldrick is up there then so be it.  Having him force fed is a way of life in these damn things but I sure do not like it.  His presence draws eyes and makes money, especially with those who do not know a fucking thing about golf.  Because of the money, that's what counts.

People that say "Oh if Tiger isn't in contention I wont watch" are the ones that need to slide off into a bayou and not return.

Homa seems to have the "rights" off the tee the last couple holes.  His second shot cut into 7 was nice though.

I used to get annoyed with the Tiger coverage. I see him so rarely now, that I don't mind it. One day, I know I'll wish I could turn on the TV and watch Tiger live at Augusta. May not get many more of these.

My issue with the coverage of Eldrick is that ESPN/CBS covers him like he's a contender when they know he's not. God forbid he make a birdie and then it's "he's making a move". They might as well follow Fred Couples around the course, he has as much of a chance of winning as Eldrick.

ESPN starts their Friday coverage by showing Eldrick making a putt to get to +1. Shocking that he would lead off the broadcast, but then again he's not THAT far off the lead.

Those bunkers near the greens have become sand storms in that wind.

I'm watching online Amen Corner coverage.

11 is a Par 4, why is no one reaching it in 4?  All golfers are to the right of the hole and short, kind of down in a valley.  Most are making it up and down from there for par, though.  Odd to have a Par 4 that pros cannot reach in 2. Is it today's wind?

I think so. The wind was blowing sand out of the bunkers on some holes today.

The wind and that water looming to the left of the green.  With the winds and a long iron shot just a little off it's wet with most every golfer hitting a draw.
Rory just dunked one.

Wind is definitely swirling today. But you have to dogleg right off the tee, causing distance. Then you have to stay right on your 2nd shot to avoid the hole feeding into that pond. Green feeds the pond too. This hole is part of what cost Rory in 2011. #2 most difficult hole in the history of the tournament.

Well the wind died down finally but I've never seen it quite that strong on the telecast before.  18 was a sandstorm for about an hour and a half.

Man so disappointing for Hovland playing so bad today.

Setting up for an eventful Saturday .

Tiger taps in for an 82 today. He is +11 only 18 strokes out.
You'll have to wake up early to follow him Sunday.
I'm sure CBS will lead with a recap of his round when they come on the air tomorrow though.

Nantzy boy just can't help himself with the breathless call of Tiger's birdie try on 18 to shoot 81 rather than 82. There was only one other guy he ever openly cheered for more than that.

I would love to see Morikawa pull this out of the ones who are up there. Homa would be ok too. Schauffele has an outside chance and would be my first pick if he could go low tomorrow.

Douchambeau and his illegal clubs can drown in Rae's Creek.

I didn't watch much of it but has me curious if the LIV guys are still competitive. Sounds like LIV is all about the Cush and chill life and maybe the competitive nature has drown out from those guys. Get paid and LIVE.

I don't see Schefler going LIV but who knows. Maybe he is already. Hard to pass that guaranteed money.

I wondered about the competitiveness of the LIV guys too.  Koepka did well last year, and nothing this year.  I had hopes for Rahm, but he disappointed.  So, no real evidence they are competitive this year.

Good for Scheffler.  He spoke is beliefs without making a scene.  If more people who want to share stuff like that would do so a little less showy like this I'm fine with it.
