Reese is the epitome of why high level women's NCAA ball and the WNBA were unwatchable before Clark, find a 6'5 woman and let bulldoze the competition. It doesn't matter that her vertical is four inches or that her handles are on par with your average 6th grade boy, she will simply dominate with her size.
Clark is the first woman with large scale appeal to play like a man. She shoots like Steph Curry but her passing is even more impressive. WNBA players should be lining up to be on her team. She'll raise your scoring a average a half dozen points with two or three gimme layups a game because of her passing.
Anyway, she is fun to watch because there really aren't that many women who are as coordinated as she is.
She is an old school fundamentally skilled basketball player, which to be honest is rare on the pro level men or women.

Aja is still the most valuable player to her team. You take Aja off of Vegas then they fall off just as hard as Indiana would without Clark. Clark is the most polarizing female athlete I can remember. That might have something to do with it. That and with the advent of cable/satellite/streaming you can watch every MLB game, every NBA game. Over saturation has diminished the excitement surrounding any single game.

Here's an idea. Get some smaller women who are good athletes and can play basketball. High School girls tournament basketball is way more enjoyable than those bunch of big gawky uncoordinated dumbasses they're putting on the court. I recall the times that Arkansas, UNLV, and Georgetown was "thug ball" and to some degree for the times it probably was BUT it was still basketball just a highly aggressive style designed to take advantage of analytics such as shoot more than they do, have more possessions, create more turnovers, control the pace of the game...etc etc. That was thug ball in the mid 80s to 90s until they adjusted the rules to negate the hand checking and generally everyone started to catch up and play similar styles. Now we've gone to jack up as many 3's as possible because the analytics say 3 points is better than 2 and that's the game.
What we are calling thug ball now is straight up hatchet men out there brawling and not really playing anywhere near in the spirit of the game contrast that to the ladies that are out there still trying to play the sport more or less clean and straight laced. None of that means the white bitches aren't out there running they mouths too but I don't see them out there clipping bitches at every opportunity. Style of play and brand should mean something and if the ladies are concerned about branding and all that then show me a star that's black. The "fundamentally sound" thing was always a myth in my opinion, based on having to watch games in between boys' games in high school between 8th and 12th grade. Junior high basketball in particular was an abomination...four year old boys playing Upward basketball without keeping score were more fundamentally sound. Literally never saw more than 10-15 seconds elapse between turnovers or fouls. Boys games would be over in a little over an hour at that level...girls games took closer to two. I saw some talented individuals (Sha Hopson from Hot Springs comes to mind first), but for the most part it was a turnover fest because most of the girls couldn't dribble, pass or shoot.
Some of the old school college teams (La Tech under Hogg/Barmore when Mulkey was a PG, Summitt's UT teams) were definitely playing a fun style and doing it well. But even then the talent level was so uneven that those teams played 1-2 competitive game per year and just embarrassed everyone else who lacked their skill and discipline.
I can't agree on baseball being more boring though. I won't watch two random teams in a regular season game or anything, but I'd watch static on a loop before I'd watch the WNBA finals game seven.

I could agree with that, that the best college teams ran more plays and defined sets.
To me fundamentals are shooting, dribbling, passing, positioning, etc. The women's game is massively inferior to the men's at every level in those areas.
They are getting better. I'll admit that. Clark, Buecker. and Miles are pretty skilled, but the overall product is still a tough watch
I think the problem for the WNBA is the women's body and age.
For explosive muscle power, one of the main things for basketball, women peak at 19, men at 27.
That means that once women hit the WNBA, they area already in deep decline for peak explosiveness vs even college. In short, they can't fucking jump or make explosive plays like they could even in college. Thus, the game loose slower and more planted than even the college game for a reason. Then add in weight gain and the game becomes bruising.

Except for families of the players and maybe the players themselves, there are very few people in this league who knew much about basketball or had ever watched it on any level with either sex. It's a league that would rather provide a place for woke lesbian fans to think they are empowering black lesbians and for those lesbians to bask in that adulation and entitled victimhood, than play actual basketball and allow a white superstar to make them all rich.
It's not just the WNBA. I remember when we started being good at women's soccer. It was fun to watch (at least the Women's World Cup), and then the social justice warriors showed up, with their lesbos and tranny friends. They welcome the racial, trans, etc. stuff because it will draw viewers. Once they get the number is eyes up to a level they are comfortable with, they will start toning that stuff down and have some real basketball.

I don't really buy that because somehow my Youtube algorithm has started showing me a bunch of 1970s NBA games over the last few weeks. And some of the biggest stars in the league were white.
