I'm not sure why anyone would predict a win over an Oklahoma State team that won 10 games last year and returns everyone. Week 2 on the road.

The only real arguments for it are that OSU always starts slowly and their defense is ass.
But Gundy is no Pittman.
I am sticking with 3-9. I don't see green lasting the season with the O-line we have. Until we have more returning instead of having to hit the reset button every year, we will be chasing our tail.
We need a poll.
If memory serves, we usually have a poll on the Wednesday before gameweek.

I just don't think we have the horses. Our OL won't protect the QB enough to keep drives going, our defense won't be able to stop the big offenses that Texas and LSU will put up, and we'll squander what will look, at times, to be winnable games vs Ok St and Missouri.
The season will play out like so many before it. Beat the cupcake in week one, get overly hyped about the season, before everything crashes in week two. Then we beat up another cupcake and everyone says "we fixed things!" before we drop two in a row to get everyone thinking about the next coaching hire.
The troops will rally around the coach (probably we'll get the classic "coach comes out arm-in-arm with players, which is always the kiss of death), and we'll win vs Tennessee. Pittman will spend the week, not coaching or prepping, but just talking about how we're about to make a big turnaround. Then we'll lose to LSU (who will probably have an otherwise disappointing year) by 30 points.
Stealing a road win vs Miss St won't even exicite people anymore, and it'll be confirmed when we drop back-to-back games to Lane and Texass. A win vs La Tech gives us hope for maybe a bowl game. Talk of "all is not lost" and "still have something to play for" will be the story heading into Thanksgiving weekend. We'll be heading to Missouri with a chance to make a bowl, and probably will go up like 21-6 at halftime, and then lose something like 24-27.
The end.

I think the OL will be much improved due to the subtraction of Kennedy. We can't overstate how terrible that guy was. I'm not saying we'll even have an average OL, but the combination of adding BP and subtracting CK has to mean at least a little improvement.

This is a scary accurate description of a typical Arkansas season.

I'm not going game by game, I'll just say that I think that we're a 5-7 team that because of Petrino will win a game we shouldn't. Don't know which one that will be, but I believe he will get us the win we don't expect.
6-6 and we go to a crap bowl.

Was it horrible because Kennedy sucked, or was it because of the Locker room issue? I know when we hired Mateos, Fayettevillian didn't see much of difference, though he did everything but lay the blame on Pittman.
We are on our third line coach. We shall see if Mateos is not just another fat ass collecting a paycheck eating catfish and hushpuppies.

Reading between the lines I think Kennedy was part of the locker room issue. The players at the very least didn't want to bust their asses for him. He seems like the type who would have a hard time motivating a turd to come out the morning after a drunken run to Taco Bell.
Mateos may not be any better. As long as he doesn't kill any of them he probably can't be any worse.

My optimistic viewpoint is that we steal one we shouldn't which I think will be TN. Reality may be 4-8.
8-4 minimum. 10-2 most likely.
Bunch of pessimists up in here.

I hope you're right. We couldn't ask for a better SEC road schedule. I'd love to think we could beat Auburn and A&M this year but I won't be putting any money on that.
