Title: Sins of BMFP - The Return
Post by: Too Big Pig on Aug 29, 2024, 11:00 PM
BMFP stinkholed UAPB and didn't even have the common courtesy to give them a reach around.

Bmfp didn't let Sam have his way and kneel on the ball to end the half.

Maybe he'll teach sam some killer instinct this year.

pittman let him run the plays he wanted to. both of them said so post game and have since he was hired.

it wasn't about anyone not letting the other not do something.

BP went post-boomer and gave up the Harley for a vespa.

Bobby took a pregame dump in the press box and destroyed all the toilets for Wally.

If you want to teach a dog to hunt, you gotta let him catch that rabbit every now and then. BP let them catch that rabbit.

Bmfp probably went batshit when Sam agreed to a 50 minute game.  He wanted that hundred.  I didn't know there was a college mercy rule.

Glad he did. If it was up to Sam, he would have went to prevent offense midway through the 2nd quarter.

What I don't get about WMS is about every five years I'll get a bid opportunity for HVAC at WMS "Renovations" and if you read all thru that shit they are redoing this and that....lots of bathroom reno's. I'm guessing this shit never gets off the launching pad.

This team plays like there's somebody they're scared of.  :D

Way more disciplined even down to the 3rd unit.

The bathrooms are light years better than they used to be.

Granted, they couldn't get much worse, but still...

To me, it didn't matter if it was a trough, a pisser, or a commode. There was so much piss on the floor that you felt like you should throw your shoes away when you walked out of there.

..and I love this!  I've said it before and I'll say it again.  Beat TN, LSU, and TX.  I'd trade every other game for those three.  Especially if it spoils their playoff hopes.

Ole Miss too.  And I fricking hate losing to Missouri and A&M.  So beat them too.

I don't ask for much.

Well, today is the day.
Taking over a loser dumpster fire of a team was not to his advantage to say the least. Perhaps his final sin was not benching Green weeks ago. Green had 2 years to become non-retarded.

The guy brought more excitement to this football program than anyone in my lifetime. He made a big mistake that I believe he got overpenalyzed for. He apologized. He came back to the LR Touchdown club and spoke willingly about what happened. He came back to play here as an opponent. He took the OC job after having one of the worst offenses we've ever had in '23. The last 2 years our offense has been the only bright spot. He was asked to take over a team after 4 games that was so bad defensively that he had no choice but to fire most of the staff and practically start over mid season. There have been some improvements but minimal. Our defense and costly turnovers have kept this team from winning, but he has miraculously kept the team together. He was dealt a losing hand.

I hope the stadium is packed with people wearing BMFP shirts. I hope people stay and give him an ovation when he leaves. Most importantly I hope he goes out a winner. He deserves it.

This is a very undervalued point.

I think what he has done despite the shit hand he was dealt shows he still is a great coach.  The players could have quit.  What was left of the staff could have quit.  Neither happened despite the demoralizing losses stacking up.

Every bit of this. I like our chances today and I'm sure it would mean the world to him to go out with a win against a team we never beat. I hope we get some Bobby chants from the crowd.

Good stuff and I agree. All that being said, there's only one reason why I want him to be the coach-I know he will win here if he's given the resources.

That's the thing about Bobby.  We have a chance in any of the games.  Our last coaches going back to Bobby part 1, did you really feel that way after the conference play started?  Nope.  We all knew when we'd lose before it even started.  When Bobby was here the first time (minus the first season), it was pretty much never over til it was really over.  There was always a hope and a chance that we could still win.  Since then, if we aren't up by multiple TDs in the 4th quarter you KNEW we'd find a way to lose.

I remember him speaking at the Garrett Uekman memorial.  That was a side of Bobby that is never seen publicly.  It hasn't surprised me that everyone other than that running back whose name already escapes me has stayed in the fight all the way to the end of the season.

We'll hire Sam because players like him, but we don't hire Bobby who gets players to play for him.

We all know that we should keep Bobby, especially if you can't even pull a Golesh. But we all know that we won't. Well hire wommack who is the equivalent of hiring Pittman. Very uninspiring. He wants to come here, yay.

I've seen, in person, a lot of unforgettable games as a Razorback fan. My family is generationally vested in the U of A.
That said..

Cowboy go get it with seconds left in the half.
Throwing sugar cubes on the field in LR
and booking NOLA in the stands before leaving the stadium, is probably the greatest
sporting experience I've had. Maybe tied only with beating Texas and bonfires on Dickson St.

For all the complexities of the BMFP issues including where we're at currently, at least I (and may others) personally have that time frame in Razorback football history as one of the greatest.

Let the chips fall where they may from here on out.
