And they pull him after 3. Why? In college he was pitching 100 per game, he wasn't even halfway there. I'm a pro baseball idiot, so someone enlighten me. Surely it's not to save him for relief duty in game 3 if necessary?

Oops, I posted in the main MLB thread about his good outing before I saw this. 

Three innings is actually his longest outing, I'm pretty sure.

They've consistently been using him as an "opener" after his first few appearances were in relief.

For a guy who's been in The Show a little less than two months, he's on a hockey stick trajectory.

Oh, and Benny is due up in the top of the fifth.

Yes, for sure, but not really about him. It's why teams like using an opener these days.

Was he pitching in relief in the minors? I know he has been in the Show but if he was starting P in the minors his arm should be ramped up as far as pitch count goes.

I understand bringing him along slow but with 3 shutout innings I'd let him go until he got in trouble especially with a lead. He only threw 38 thru 3ip.

I believe he did some of both in the minors.

It is overly conservative but that's their philosophy.

Hagen always pitched poorly in the postseason here, so of course I expect him to morph into Sandy Koufax for the White Sox this postseason.

Very disappointed in Acuna. He just doesn't have that clutch gene it appears. About a .150 career hitter in the postseason.

He seemed to be pouting today after Dubon called him out publicly.

I'd be up for cutting bait on him to get a top line pitcher. One proposal I saw was to the Mariners for Logan Gilbert.

I think we'd need another bat but that would be an awesome trade.   Would be nice to have a blood relative on the Braves (although I've never met him).
