Quote from: AporkalypseNow on Nov 30, 2024, 07:36 PMFor the bring Bobby back crowd, what makes you think he's still got it after Missouri St and Louisville?

Does he look like the offensive genius he once was?
If green wasn't a ruhtard and could actually comprehend and carry out the plays BP draws up, he would have been much more successful.
Ryan Mallett was a dude and had a football brain, green is just an idiot.
The same people demanding everyone embrace your beliefs, have zero tolerance and condemn another for embracing theirs.  Oh, the irony.

Yuracheeks wants him back. #OneRazorback

I'm also cynical enough to believe that Pittman scheduled his hip surgery when he did in order to force Yurachek's hand.

We got crucified for firing Bert coming off the field. Think about how bad the optics of firing a coach in the hospital recovering from surgery would be. What sort of a shitlord would do that?

Maybe Pittman isn't the blithering idiot I thought he was.

Sam loves his staff and wants everyone back.

I'm sure he does. We're well on our way to 7-6 if we can manage to play UAPB in a bowl game. #MISSIONACCOMPLISHED

A broken clock is only right twice a day.

Funny that during the broadcast, the announcers kept referring to it as a "Hip Injury."

Quote from: AporkalypseNow on Nov 30, 2024, 07:32 PMI think we had enough talent to win 2-3 more games.  Hopefully we can recruit better players to get to where we would be with better coaching.

When you repeatedly lose one score games over and over again, I'm sure talent is the only problem.

Agree to disagree on that. We lost most gsmes due to kid's making mistakes and turning the ball over. We win 3 more games, including today, with better players.

We had better players today for the most part.

Takes a good coach to recruit better players.

Just listened to a couple of our oline men at the press conference. They didn't sound that upset. Why is woopig?

We have an O-Line?

To me it's mainly semantics over "better players" equating to dudes that don't make as many critical mistakes. The vast majority of mistakes were avoidable. You can argue it's coaching it's probably a mix of mis evaluations on players that just can't play consistently and/or stay focused and at some point the player has to be accountable the majority of these errors were not from being out classed except for on the offensive line and defensive backfield that's where we see the majority of our miscues. Defensive backs can't be hung out to dry because of the slugs on the defensive line. The DC can't continue to call these defenses that give huge cushions. What in the hell.

Likewise the offensive line can't hold legit SEC D-Line the QB has to be able to read and react cat quick in this offense. I prefer the pre-Lamar Jackson Petrino approach to what he's doing now. But anyway yes talent is only part of it. You've got to have accountability to go along with everything and I'm not seeing where we had a staff willing to jerk a kid out of the lineup when they continued to fuck the dog.

You are going to have turnovers from guys fighting for extra yards. You might have some turnovers from tipped balls or the QB making an aggressive throw. We don't want those turnovers from lazy blooper passes floating in the air for 35 seconds. We don't want fumbles from guys not being ready to take the hand off or from a center that literally can't snap the ball.

Overall what it really comes down to is difference makers. When it came time to win the damn game Missouri had difference makers and we didn't.

Petrino's impact could have and probably should have yielded another couple wins if not 3. This was his boy though and we rode with him for the entire season. So Petrino as to own that shit. 2 more wins and we're having a much different conversation. We're happy with our 8 wins going into a bowl. Instead we'll be lucky to win 8 next season and much more likely it'll be a repeat.

Quote from: Feral on Nov 30, 2024, 07:57 PMHere's the other issue with NIL.

The chuds in our media have conditioned our fans for literal decades that paying players is evil and sinful and that we're a "clean program" who "does things the right way." We looked down our noses at the Alabamas, Auburns and Ole Misses of the world for doing things of ill repute.

So when paying players is made legal, we simply can't wrap our small brains around it because of years of said conditioning. Prime example is Irwin still referring to direct player payments in recruiting as "cheating" instead of accepting it as codified law now.

Unfortunately, NIL is simply anathema to who we are culturally as a program and a fan base because, like most things, we're stuck in a bygone era and refuse to accept or embrace modernity.

Jesus, NIL has made some of you lose your fucking mind. This is one of the most fucked up takes I've read on this board in a while.

Considering how we've only won 8 games something like 2 times in the 12 years since the motorcycle crash, I'd say we'd be a lot more than lucky to win 8.

We'll be lucky not to have 8 losses next year with our schedule.

Oh good we get to play Notre Dame and Memphis as OOC's

The rest of the schedule seems manageable and by that I mean we're gonna manage to lose all four road SEC games and probably lose our rubber match with Auburn. So yes we'll be lucky to win six with a talented roster. I can see why HY doesn't want a new coach to have to take on this turd but Sam might not make it past Week 4

Exactly. HY needs to sit Sam down and say "look at the schedule: You'll probably be fired before Halloween next year, and you'll be hated by everyone. Or you can retire and shape the narrative that you were the guy who dragged us out of the mud and undid our laughingstock reputation."

That ship has sailed. We've regained our laughingstock reputation.
