2024 Liberty Bowl: Larry rolls into Graceland

I remember when there were only the Cotton, Orange, Sugar, and Rose bowls. Then they added a few more. Now, there ware way too many. It is like everyone gets a trophy.

I remember when there were only the Cotton, Orange, Sugar, and Rose bowls. Then they added a few more. Now, there ware way too many. It is like everyone gets a trophy.

Starting next Tuesday there will either be a bowl game or a full NFL schedule every day until January 5th, excluding Christmas Day.  Regardless of whether teams deserve them or how many players opt out, that seems like a win for football fans.   And for those who don't like them, you have the option of changing the channel. 

I'm sure much of the opposition here is due to the fact that our fifth year head coach is celebrating like he got a playoff spot when he should be at home waiting on his first buyout check.

It definitely isn't a bragging point, or shouldn't be. 

I'm still glad they have the games.  And never understood in the past why some of Broyles's ranked teams turned down bowls.

And you know a lot of these bowls loose money. Some seem to have sparse crowds.

What made the bowl games "shitty" is the pussification of sports. Back when I was a kid dudes didn't "risk" injury...they just showed up and played. Yeah maybe a few guys ripped up a knee and ended up losing out on millions in potential earnings but by god they played for the love of the game and the name on their chest (making millions)

Back then pros made like $12k a year and sold cars and insurance in the offseason.  They made more getting a job at the bank in Fordyce. 

You may get recall back then players voted on bowls.  The 70 Hogs were going to the Orange Bowl if LSU lost their last game and voted not to go to a lesser bowl. You calling that illustrious crew of some of the best hogs ever lived pussies?

It's a business.  No different than a golfer getting a chance on the tour, or a horn player to leave for a recording deal or anything else. Risk injury and cut into my combine training time for my careeer?  Fuck no. Bye Sam:

And I have no issue with "extra football." I'd watch it year 'round if they'd play it. But stop it with the sunshine pumping that making a bowl game in a 6 win, non-winning season is some grand accomplishment.
