Actually, it looks like the SMF updated itself via the hosting service and also updating the PHP at the same time.  Then the database corrupted.

I spun up a server at my office on my test server, and downloaded and imported the data until i found all the broke shit.  Then recreated it all and restored from backup.

If I remember correctly, I made my move and posted when Hunter Henry did the ole heave-ho backwards pass to Alex Collins on 4th and 25 versus Ole Miss.

Once the play stood, I didn't really give a shit what anyone had to say because it was so damn awesome.
