It is a different kind of cold up north. I am colder here just north of Memphis at 38 degrees than I was the whole time in Antarctica. It was a very dry cold there. I think it is the same in some places up north. That moisture in the air makes a difference.

I got back from England a couple of weeks ago, and I was miserably cold when we were outside.  You can almost drink the fucking air.  It was mid-30's to low 40's, and I came back with a case of pneumonia.

I lived in Gonzales, LA, for a while way back when. We left there one day to fly to Chicago. It was 36 degrees in Gonzales and you would freeze your ass off. We got to Chicago. The high that day was 7 degrees and there were snow flurries. I actually had to take some of the clothes I was wearing off because it was so warm. I wore long John's, jeans, a sweater, and light jacket the whole time I was there and was comfortable. I would have frozen to death back in LA wearing that little.

We literally got an email from a nearby dental office today that said they would be closed Thursday and Friday due to the impending storm.
