I'm a nerd and found a 90s spoof of the Weather Channel called Weather Star 4000...so I've got it running as a docker container. Anyway it's neat.

Want to go even more nerd...

just type in your browser wttr.in

and it'll give very old school forecast graphics. If you go into your windows PowerShell or command line I think you have to type "Curl wttr.in"

That's awesome. I watched the weather channel all the time as a kid.

We had 2" yesterday maybe 3 and everyone went to work. I remember the days of a flurry in the air and the ladies who all lived in saline co would be crying to management that they needed to leave or they'd die driving home. 🙄.
Yep. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. It could have lived. It didn't. Not by my choice. -Elvis

This made me chuckle.

Nice! Brings back memories of during my military career as a operations meteorologist and all the weather station CRT televisions had the Weather Channel emblem burned into their screens.

My aunt is hoping for lots of snow. She loves it. I love it, but hate driving on it once it starts turning into ice.

My mom had that thing on during the morning when I was going to school. For a while they watched it more than anything else and almost had every tv in their house on the WC. Once it started showing shows instead just the weather, they stopped watching it.

I'm so old, I remember calling some number on my corded rotary phone to get the current temperature.

Yep! The local bank always had time and temperature.

As a kid growing up in Conway, I would dial that thing every 15 minutes when snow was in the forecast to see if it was dropping below freezing.

We always used 376-8111. That number is burned into my brain.

"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar when his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

you should probably go tonight. Or today. I don't understand why people rush to the store..:do you think you'll be stranded for a week and do you have no food on hand. Usually snow weather people over eat like pigs

Went this morning in Jonesboogie.  There were a few carts when I went in but none when I left.  A couple were waiting where the carts usually are and asked if I could carry my few bags to the car so they could use the cart.  I told them they were free to come get it when I return it to the corral.  Guess they should have been old or pretending to be handicapped or something, instead of some lazy pussies that didn't want to go back out in the cold.
