Just moved back to southern Illinois and it's way hotter than the hill country of Virginia.
Something a local told me that I didn't know..an acre of corn can release several thousand gallons of water into the atmosphere in a single day. It's called corn sweats, and it really adds to the humidity.

I missed it but why did yall move back to Illinois?  Asked differently, why did yall willingly move away from Virginia?

When I was working I had Kohler, Rockline, and Fleet Farm in the Sheboygan area.  The November and February business reviews sucked.  I'd try to schedule them remotely, but no dice.  Miserable place in the winter.

The midwest has shit weather.  It's always wild to me that when I've been to Nebraska and Iowa in the summer, it's just as hot there as it is here--sometimes hotter.  And those bastards probably still have snow on the ground until May.

Yeah, it gets hot but it's only two months of hot vs 5 in the south. It's basically fall up there right now, but winter is approaching come October and lasting until April 😂. I'll take my five months of heat and humidity (hopefully not just this bad the whole time) over 7 months of winter.

I had a good friend who took a job in Appleton several years ago. He moved from NWA in June and taunted me throughout the summer and autumn with weather reports of cool summer breezes and crisp autumn afternoons.

One January morning he called me to tell me he was quitting his job and moving back to Arkansas. On that lovely subzero morning, it seems he had jumped in his car to drive to work, started the vehicle (thanks to the obligatory engine block heater), grabbed the wheel and...proceeded to have it snap in half in his hands.

It is possible I chortled.

We don't stay up here in the winter. Head back to DFW in early Oct.

Enjoy the fall/spring weather though TC. Loved visiting the local farmer's market during our time there. Some of the freshest fruits and vegetables.

My kids live outside Shawnee, OK.  The farm & ranch store is an Atwood's. It's a glorious store.  If they just sold alcohol it would be perfect (bi mart in Oregon sells ammo and whiskey). Guns, troughs, baby ducks, recliners, whatever you need they hot it

its gonna be cool. Being a rain jacket starting Friday expect cooler temps and rain every day. After Friday it's gonna be low 70s and 60s into next week here. I'm gonna be in vail and the lows are gonna be mid 40s
