Never been to Leadville so I am assuming it is pronounced led-ville.

However, assumptions can prove embarrassing, which you will quickly find out if you visit the town of Lead, South Dakota (about 5 miles SW of Deadwood) which is pronounced leed.

Of course, South Dakotans also pronounce their capital Pierre as peer so maybe they are just strange.

Try Central Georgia where they have a county spelled "HOUSTON", but pronounced "HOW-STON".

It is indeed "led-vile" and is also the highest incorporated town in America.  It's beautiful, and it's a mining town.  It's where the headwaters of the Arkansas river may be found.

Oldest son spent the summer in Pierre. Beautiful town but their  "so hot" 94 degrees is like 82 in the natural state. I could summer there.

of course, Rev, you are talking about Leadville, CO. It's at 10,000 ft elevation.  I have been through there a few times.  There is also Leadville, Arkansas, which is a pretty area.

We just ate at Tennessee pass cafe...that's where I usually go. So many places up there aren't open full time or have weird hours. Most places in summer go Thursday to Sunday.

It's 70 here right now but fucking humidity is at 60%. Fuck this. I hate humidity but it's rained all damn week

High Mountain.  It's a tiny little place but the patio is nice, and the pizza is outstanding
