We are headed down early tomorrow morning. Staying somewhat inland in Ft. Walton out of the flood zone in an Air B&B. Our daughter, her husband, and one of our grandsons are staying with us, as there are a lot of trees around their house and they are near the water. Wish us luck.

We'll have plenty of water, gas and food. I'm more concerned they won't let us in.  I look like a dumbass but am not entirely one. I call on enough chicken plants to stop by one and get a case of thighs. I actually enjoy a challenge.

We lost two days but have insurance so hopefully we can recoup some. Still got 8 days in and ate like a king.

Food highlights...
Boshamps - Snapper Destin, Shrimp/Grits app, Wife loved the brown butter pecan cheesecake. Went for lunch and they do a great variation of a Cuban sandwich called the Pig and Pickle.

Tackle Box - Lobster roll

For you golfers, there's a very nice course down in Watersound called Camp Creek. Says private and "accepted guests" if you can find a way to get on.

Just arrived in Ft. Walton. This is a bad pic I took through our windshield on the way down. Traffic headed north from Birmingham to waaay past Montgomery on Hwy. 65 North was nearly bumper to bumper for a LOT of miles. And going about 25 MPH. Us, headed South on 65 encountered little traffic. Traffic was as far as the eye could see headed north. We didn't hit any rain, though.

We're going to Biloxi for a night or 2 to lose some money. Good on the resort we're staying at in Gulf Shores for refunding 2 nights. Figured that was money I'd never see back. We'll still get a few days on the beach.
