My parents are supposed to stay in Miramar Beach the 17th-23rd.

Should they keep the trip on?

I know many of you in Arkansas probably understand this, but this is the worst drought I ever remember in my 72 years.  It needs to rain and rain and then really rain in most parts of the state.

Been raining a lot here today in OKC with more coming through the night.

It's rained all day since 10pm last night here it's glorious except for the interstate. Fucking people don't know how to drive here in the rain
Yep. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. It could have lived. It didn't. Not by my choice. -Elvis

I am happy for y'all.  But much of Arkansas is worse than bone dry.  Much worse.

As an aside, I was talking to one of my best friends from back home in Conway, apparently Brewer lake is running dry.  Its the lake just north of Plumerville from which Conway Corp get its water supply.  The city is under water use restrictions.  I guess the steady population growth, combined with the drought, brought the issue to a head this year.  Says they are considering building a pipeline from Greers Ferry to increase the supply.

Yes, my son in law is originally from Morrillton, and I was talking to his father a couple of weeks ago at my grandson's football game.  Apparently they get water from that lake also.  He told me how serious it was.

Quote from: Son of Spam on Oct 10, 2026, 02:23 PMWe are fine. Sounded like a lot of jet engines last night and a lot of rain. Lots of limbs down and power out in a lot of places. Wind blew like hell.

Looks like you're getting a great week of calm blue water. Seeing much damage?

There was a lot of damage around our daughter's neighborhood, but their house was OK. They were with our power for 2 days. Lots of big trees down. I will post a few pics.
Well, shit...

My wife standing near a tree stump. The tree blew over about 2 houses down from our daughters.

I went fishing at Maumelle over a month ago and nearly took out a prop at the ramp. I bet you can barely get a boat in now. We're in bad shape.

Except for all the leaves still on the trees, looks like the damage left after an ice storm.
