They have the entire summer to get themselves worked into a tiz, then two weeks at Christmas to reenergize, and then a spring break.  Idle hands, and all that.

I expect stupid takes from HTL. But my general advice to others is when you find yourself rallying behind his inane comments, it may be time to reflect on your own positions.

And what exactly is wrong? Goddamn y'all are an entitled bunch. I can't imagine ever missing a day of work. Seven days a fucking week I'm grinding.

I'm about to go on a Saban-like tirade about entitlement in society. Nothing will ever be enough for teachers. Nothing.

It's a shame you can't get it done in 4 like the rest of us.

Enjoy that early grave.

He thought he did too, but he forgot that one.😂😂

I'm not one to say there isn't way too much complaining from teachers (especially in the urban area schools), but this is legit.

When schools are told to not have online instruction days or you will have funding withheld, but a LR Christian teacher can send out her daily virtual classroom assignment to build a snowman (seriously) and take a picture. There is an issue.

When they weren't getting public funds, who cares, do what you want as a private school. But now if they choose to accept the funds, it should be time to keep some basic rules the same for everyone.

Me personally, I hated the AMI days. I'm content making them up. I just expect equity.

Equity is bullshit.

Equity in outcome is not expected is it?

It should be. Low starting expectations always produce low outcomes.

I understand that poverty and achievement more often than not follow a trend line, but too many people write kids off from the start and make those excuses. They may not get there, but I sure expect them to try like hell to along the way.

My theory is that if public schools had the same freedom to make decisions to do what was best for their student body instead of being tied to so many bureaucratic rules, they too could have better outcomes.

HTL works so hard his weeks are actually 9 days long.

My parents and in-laws were all public school teachers and, based on what they have said over the years, this statement is 100% true.

You're in luck then, Sarah Sanders is taking a victory lap right now on Facebook about how successful her first year has been and it's right foot down in this new year. Lots of superintendents with their years in are going to bail. Maybe that's her plan.

SHS has a couple of plans.   One is make sure her "people" can get their money from public taxes to pay for private schools (I won't get into the Private do not have to teach to the standards, or test or, etc.)

She also wants to get out of Arkansas as quickly as possible and onto the national politics stage.  The only way she wants to complete a term is if she has no choice and no where to go.

But, really none of this has much to do with icy roads.  Except the snowman lesson plan, which is real.

In what world does SHS make it to the national stage?  As what?  There is not enough on the right side of the ledger that would ever propel her to an elected position.  Maybe an appointed position?  I can't imagine what that would be.

I mean she's looking at multimillion dollar homes in DC area for a reason.

She's angling for the VP position. No prayer of that. Probably settle for Secretary of Education. She's another example of a woman who shouldn't be given authority over anyone.
