Then why hasn't anyone mentioned that he traveled and it was very obvious?

Are you really going to argue it wasn't a clear cut travel?

I think we all know why the talking heads are not talking about it.  No one clearly cares outside Volorado State fans and me.

I watched it live, and watched that clip three times. I don't even see close to a walk. I see a gather, a step, and a shot.

  • NCAA and High School:
The "gather step" or "zero step" rule is not used in NCAA and high school basketball, meaning the first step after a dribble is considered the first step, allowing only one more step before shooting, passing, or coming to a stop.

It is amazing how every year ATT comes up with the dumbest march madness commercials

As for the walk, the nba has desensitized everyone

He followed that rule.

*the first step after a dribble
- He did that

*allowing only one more step before shooting
- He did that too

Then he shot.

It was really like 1 1/2 steps. It certainly wasn't 3.  Wasn't even remotely in the same universe as a possible travel.

Hogfan58

The ex Nova coach said he didn't think it was a travel, but you couldn't call it "in that situation". I guess he means because it was a game winning shot.

It was and you're wrong. He picked up the ball and stepped with his right foot, then stepped with his left foot, then stepped with his right foot and elevated.  Clear travel.

But we can agree to disagree.

I must have watched a different play than you did

I guess so. I was watching the one that the officials and all the announcers watched.

The Whyte Boar

Yeah, it was a walk, but they seem to be unofficially following the NBA rule these days anyway.

Watch it again.

Right-left-right.

It was a travel.

They, like you, are wrong.
But it doesn't matter since it's over and done with.

Quote from: Zoso on Mar 23, 2025, 06:48 PMSo this may be a stupid question (actually it is) but seeing UK throw that long pass before Oweh was fouled...what happens if the inbounder throws it long and it actually goes in the basket...does it count?

William Mills threw an alley oop pass in the basket once while inbounding from the sideline. It may or may not have been on purpose. It didn't count.

Don't know if it's still the case, but I saw earlier that there is one bracket not yet busted.

I'm not a ref so I don't know the full answer, but the shot would not count.

My guess is it's a turnover to the other team like it went out of bounds.

Arizona's shot selection down the stretch is puzzling
