And, in terms of importance to the program, I agree with this.
Apparently retarded member of the "fucking old people" crowd as defined by Swahili Steve.

100%

It'll be interesting to see what is said about acuff in 40 years.

Barton Fink

He's hands down the best freshman we've ever had. Arguably the best to wear the uniform. Unfortunately, being a one and done he'll probably be judged more on his NBA succes than his time here in 40 years.

Since he will not play four years here, we will never know.

A point I was reminded of when looking at Mayberrys that I cited a few posts up with his and Acuffs stats for the 150/500 number, and BigPig also pointed out.

We had Mayberry for 4 years. Obviously the game is different, but can you imagine having Acuff for 3 or 4 years. He's already in the conversation with the greats as a 1 and done here. It's crazy to even think about.

vegashog

completely different era. no shot clock, three point line, and the four corners was all the rage. that's why trying to compare players 50 years apart is kinda useless imo.

sid was great, but no one has been this good less than a year out of highschool.

The Whyte Boar

The only freshman we've had of comparable impact on the team was Thurman.  Now, Thurman wasn't better than Acuff, of course, but Thurman had the same sort of impact on a team that ended up being a Sweet 16 team.

The thing that sets Acuff apart from any player I can remember is his consistency.  He is going for more than 20 and five assists pretty much every single night.  And it's really a quiet 20.  If he were selfish and just trying to score selfishly, I believe he could average 40.  He is a truly great player unlike any we've had.

Why is Kansas ranked so much higher than us? This is fucked up
Yep. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. It could have lived. It didn't. Not by my choice. -Elvis

Didn't he make one at LSU?

Yes...he set the scoring record for a for a freshman at McHale Center. Hell he may still have it. But yeah, that game wasn't close.

He hit a 3 to beat LSU in OT. They used Dillard as a decoy and he drained about a 25 footer for the win.

What's fucked up is they lost by 18 on Saturday and moved up a spot. Lost to #5, but still, nobody gets to move up a spot when you got beat by almost 20. I don't care who you played.

Thanks. I thought so. I remember Dillard hitting the 3 to send it to OT.
The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

A buddy of mine was at that game. We fell behind bad and he was taking a lot of shit talking from the corn dogs around him. I think it was Dillard that hit the three to send it to OT. My buddy said it got totally silent and he yelled out "Well I'm feeling confident, how about y'all"?

Current BetSaracen line is Bama (-3.5). Quick, somebody get a game thread going up in here. This is a big one tonight. Heard Knox isn't playing due to injury.
I really don't care, Margaret.

Neither is Sealy. Billy has to stay out of foul trouble.

as does brazile. they lead the nation in adjusted tempo, 74 possessions per 40 minutes. wagner has to have productive minutes.

I meant for the building (McHale or however it's spelled). Yeah I remember Clarke hitting like fifty 3s that night.

Our offense was basically run him continuously outside the 3 line and let him pick his spots.
