DVH is good at putting  a team together.  One of the best out there.  The way he put this team together after losing the whole team last year pretty much was really good.

His actual in-game coaching, maybe average at best.  He wins a ton by having a better team and that is great until you get to the level where everyone has a really good team (Supers/CWS)  Just my opinion that is backed by the results year after year.

The decisions were there, and DVH made the wrong ones like he does in EVERY SINGLE high stakes situation.

I'm honestly done with him.  I've said it before, but I cant do this again as a fan.

DVH seems to have not learned from previous errors.  His teams make grevious silly mistakes in big games.  Some coaches do it, some do not.  DVH is a Not.

How do you brain fart big enough to not turn that double?   When you play infield you run through every scenario in your head BEFORE every pitch.  You're yelling at an confirming with the other infielders BEFORE every pitch what you're going to do if the ball is hit to you.  I just don't get it.

He never hesitated he was always going for the lead runner.

That was a Little League play.  Make sure you get the lead runner because you aren't good enough at that level to turn two consistently.  But as you say, at this level it should have been automatic.  Hell even if they screwed it up and only get the force at second, you're still at two outs with a two run lead and only one in scoring position. Just so bad. So so bad.

I could only laugh as I KNEW what was going to happen. How many times this year have we had 2 outs in the ninth and struggled to get the last out? Three bone headed plays in a row....we go from looking all world to looking like a 9U ball team...all with two outs in the ninth. Never underestimate our ability to fuck things up.

Wasn't this DVH's thing at Nebraska...had a penchant for really good teams that flopped in the big moment? I think he may have won 1 or 2 up there though.

Anyway we're getting there fairly often maybe a blind nut will find a squirrel at some point.

Arkansas is cursed and has been since, well, you know.  There was a moment in the mid 90s when Arkansas ruled the world and was actually kind of cool.  An actual baller of a coach and human being with a fanbase that included the last real, in charge, self fucking made, not fucking stupid President this country has ever had. 

Arkansans didn't know what to do with that much actual self made success.  The state attacked their own performers and Woopig.net was right there with being as fucking dumb and gullible when it came to believing everything that Frank Broyles and his shills fed to the population.  They let their worst prejudices and tendencies come to the surface. 

Arkansas will forever be cursed, I'll guess.  I've accepted it and definitely will never, ever push Razorback fandom on to any of those grandchildren I hope to someday have.

As for me, Woo Pig Sooie.  When we're good, I'll jump on that bandwagon and ride for the good times but my emotions left this shitbox of a program a long time ago.   One of you needs to go down and keep shining up that Broyles statue, I'm sure it hasn't been buffed for a few minutes.

This team really seemed to fold when one thing went wrong and let it snowball on them. Remember the Missouri State loss and the comedy of errors that was?

Just look at the 9th against UCLA. One thing led to another and suddenly we're playing 8U defense and allowing 3 runs in 3 errors. Same thing against LSU where we look like we had 4 or 5 guys who'd never played their positions before.

Not to shit on DVH in one of his darker moments, but playing tight and tensing up in clutch situations is a hallmark of his teams, and a key indicator of why he'll always have great teams but never win a title.

It was funny. I kept telling my wife what was going to happen on each at bat. She would tell me to shit the fuck up. And then, what I said would happen, happened. She thinks I am Nostradamus but I told her no, I have just been a Razorbacks fan a long time and know what we are going to do. She reminded me that she graduated from Memphis State and that they were worse. Comparable but not worse. Both are clown shoes when the title is on the line.

In hindsight it had to be coaching.  Aloy didn't even hesitate on going to third.  He was probably told to do that when they huddled up on the mound right before that.
