We were due to whiff on the portal for both hitting and pitching at some point. But this is a terrible roster - sans Helfrick and Cam. As someone else said, this shit is cyclical. It's our time to be dog shit. We'll get our turn to choke another good season away another year.

We didn't get run ruled. I haven't put my beer hat on yet this year. Even when bases were loaded I just haven't felt the hype.

we lose 10-1 but it was so bad we had a position player pitch the 8th? Have we ever done that before in game 1 of an SEC series?  20-1 I can see but 10-1? Who's arm are we trying to save? why are 19 pitchers on the roster if half can't pitch? 

it sure seems the last 2 games of the Carolina series were a major red flag, I mean they fired their coach after game 1 and we barely got a split in those last 2.

I see we had another outfield error, how many is that this season?

If we're being honest, DVH has basically been trying to tell us this team is ass for a month with his comments at several points following the Arlington series.

Talking about approaches, guys not buying in or not taking to coaching, Gaeckle's outing against Florida being the "worst pitched game since we've been here," casually throwing out the line "some guys need to learn this isn't how we do things at Arkansas," he's basically been signaling for weeks that this team hasn't gelled and sort of sucks.

Eh, I don't think so. DVH doesn't strike me as the type to leave on those terms, especially given how close we were last year and the fact you can flip a roster overnight now via the portal.

I think it's more likely that this season lights a fire and we go all out to get some hitters and arms (like we did after 2024) and may potentially be what fuels moving on from Nate as well.

He was recruited as a pitcher as well. He threw in the fall. They thought (everyone thought) the pitching staff would be the strength of this team and they wouldn't need him this year.

It wasn't like we just put in the SS to pitch.
