My guess is that Petrino winds up at Okie State, but like several have said, we get stuck with Lashlee (Chad 2.0) or Gus (Chad 0).  I don't know if Petrino can really win here now... what I do know is that any version of Chad is not the correct answer.

Comparing Lashlee to Morris is just straight up retarded.  Not Forrest Gump "a little slow" either.   

The only thing they really have in common is that they have both coached SMU, with the exception that only one of them actually won there.  And he did so in a much tougher league where he probably had the 10th best roster. 

Alex Golesh at USF is my top pick, but Lashlee wouldn't be terrible.  Especially if he could motivate the Six Flags over Jesus crowd to unass some significant NIL funds.

basketball seems to do it with no problem. yes, the roster sizes are different but you don't have to give all the players on the team big money. just the ones that can really make a difference.

what does the salary really have to do with it? it doesn't take away from nil, and the boosters pay most of it.

there's no need to go cheap on this hire. the program is as close to the end of morris as it can be. we went cheap then and look what happened. pittman's salary didn't hurt, it was the buyout, but even then, it got handled.

How much is lashlee considered a Gus lite, Gus clone anyway?

His offense is predicated on Gus's system, which makes total sense since he was taught under him from HS on up.  Though he seems to focus more on passing than Gus, and I think he's actually had success with pocket passers and not just mobile QBs like Gus.  His offense is a bit more watchable than say Chad's "offense".  However, it's still largely that same crap you see Gus always run... just slightly changed.
