Unlike many of you, I am not in to body-shaming Sam.  That gets us nowhere.  Josh Huepel looks like hell, and he's doing ok. Mike Elko ain't no prize specimen. 

I just want someone who can give us a spark.  Sam unfortunately never did that. Something where going in to a game you really thought the guys would play hard and give us a chance.

This is how you know it is bad.  I hate Nutt.  However, I'm not sure it's such a bad idea having him as an AD.  He'd get his ego stroked, but probably could get the money rolling in.  He was a motivator.  His players loved him, and they said that his practices were even tougher than Petrino's.  People in the area love him, I assume that he knows how to work the money folks... since that appeals to his narcissistic nature.  The down side is having to hear from the bastard, and you just KNOW he'd step all in to the football program.  Though, maybe it could work.

At this point I'm convinced HY has been given his last chance to make a good FB hire. I'm also betting he made it real clear to the BOT & Chancellor what THE problem is and it was probably something none of them wanted to hear. I'm just wondering if there was some kind of coming to Jesus meeting where everyone decided and got committed to this notion that we are going to have to get off some asses and pay up.

I think Woodshog made a case for this and that is how the UA is setup with the state is a limiting factor. How we are organized financially is a problem as we have funds in A that we really need in B but can't legally move it there or something. We are always 5 to 10 years behind the competition in changing with the times etc etc. That's not all on the AD as he's got to have the funding to make it work. 

I'm not a HY fan but we've already shown that we can do worse with Jeff Long. Traditionally AD's will get a couple two or three football hires at most schools before they are run oft. HY is no different. If he hires another loser and it's abundantly clear after a couple years then I'd think HY will be gone and the loser coach will follow a year or two after once the new AD is firmly established.
