Yes, they do.  That is a general observation of the spread type offenses.  If you don't have a LOT of speed, you're going to have a lot of negative or break even plays.  Briles used some similar stuff with the stretch runs, end arounds, and quick throws in the backfield.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it is just frustrating.
