I think if you don't pay your QB 1MM+(probably much more than that) you're way behind the market. 

All we really know is what we are told. The numbers tossed around on On3 and other sites is probably pulled right out of their asses. 

The only way that will ever change is if there is open and ongoing disclosure on each student athlete that receives NIL money. 

I do strongly believe you are correct though. Even KJ will probably get some under handed offers that may be enticing enough to portal if he's not taken care of sooner rather than later

Well I know what a middle tiered Big 10 QB is getting paid and it's definitely significantly more than 1MM.  The whole system is so whacky, I have no idea how this is sustainable.

The College Football Enquirer podcast addressed this the other day. They said schools are much quicker to "process" QBs now, even the big names like Lagway and Raiola because they're not living up to the money. They're telling them to take less money or hit the bricks. The market is slowly sorting itself out.

Edit: That's why I asked about Mendoza earlier in the thread. Evaluation is as important as anything else. Indiana is the #1 team with a portal class ranked 10 spots behind Arkansas.

Without looking I'm going to guess their standard recruiting classes were behind ours as well.

$24 mil to go to 85 players...i'm sure they aren't all getting a piece, but i think a mil for one guy is too much.  the market economics may tell me i'm wrong.  hard to know without the data.

but for the love of all that is fucking holy, spend some money on the offensive and defensive lines, get a decent rb, lb or two, and some db's.  i think wr and te are a dime a dozen; lots of guys can be good at those positions.  i'd bet our receiving corp this year cost a lot less than alabama's and i'm not sure theirs was any better, although williams is a beast.

I think it's all over the place. I know from a reliable source that Cam Coleman at Auburn is at $100k per month, for example.

But if you just take a simple average then $280k per player should result in a pretty solid roster.
