I don't get the argument(s) against. 

1) there's not even 12 teams that are contenders for national champion, so why are we adding more?

who cares if there is or isn't more than 12 teams who are championship caliber.  No one makes this argument in the 127 team March basketball tournament.  Are the play in teams really capable of winning it all?  Of course not.  This argument is rated as retarded.

2) We are not getting better competition or better football.

What?  Says who?  How do we know?

3) we're risking more injuries

Does she have a crystal ball?  How the fuck would anyone know this?

4) wasting so much time and energy on pointless extra games.

It cheapens the regular season somewhat or another way to look at it...

With the addition to 24 if you drop a couple due to injuries or whatever you may still be able to go on a run late thus making some of these arguments stupid. I think we all know there's been teams from the past that dropped one or two that might have otherwise made a big run in a playoff format. 

They'll undoubtedly be a push to put in more G5's instead of P4 teams because we might treat the little guys like they belong on the field.

I don't think expansion will water down the regular season. The passion of college football will continue to provide to excitement for those games, expansion just gives extended hope to more programs.

don't see a whole lot of downside to the expansion. people bitch about the same teams getting in every year, while the last two weeks show that those 'locks' can get beaten on any given weekend. it eliminates the stupid conference championship games, still limits g6 to one auto bid, and more games that actually mean something on campus instead of shitty attended or viewed bowl games that the best players sit out.
