He's no Long Dong Silver.
The dildo of consequence, rarely arrives lubed.

Here is what I believe.

BP would be , at minimum, a 7-8 win a year coach.   He has the historical backing to show he can lead a program to 9-11 wins every 3 or 4 years.   E plosive high scoring offenses coupled with average defenses win games.

We seem to be content hiring coaches that can average 4-6 wins a year. I believe Silversurfer will be more of the same.  I truly hope I'm wrong.

Anyway, is what it is.

I base it on being a resident of the area. The radio talk, local talk. Etc. I can confidently say that the majority of their fans were not upset that we hired him.

I haven't thrown in the towel on him. I'm hopeful that he succeeds and proves my doubts wrong.

Quote from: BASS on Sep 12, 2026, 03:28 PMIf all Bobby had to do was coach the offense and call plays, there is none better in the country at any level.

As a head coach, now, he can't do it. Recruiting and nil deals and pampering kids making $100k+, he can't do it.

You can't use fear and intimidation to coach the players in today's game.

If I was an NFL coach I would absolutely have hired The Petrion as OC at any point he was available. And still would. That was evident after his stint with the jags. He made Mark Brunell all-pro.

I know you have serious malice for Bobby, but in all the land he was t offered a hc gig at any level of CFB, or OC in the nfl, or anywhere but nC for bill.  That's it.
Those who know the game deeper than any of us rejected him.  He's not in a rehab program with bill, who cares nothing about his coaches opportunities.

Because we all know "those who know the game deeper" make the best decisions.

I guess you're a HY fan now?

Bobby MF Petrino doesn't give a fuck about your apologies.

"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar when his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

No not a hy fan.  I'm saying that BP and Silverfield could both be bad hires.  The game is beyond X's and O's more than ever, and where you now have to be good, BP is not.  Out of 32 nfl teams not one called him; is it career blackball from his Atlanta departure, or not one GM saw anything they wanted.  Not a single D1 school called him.  He's done as a HC.  Wishing he were here is the same bullshit we've lived with for decades, pining for Jimmy or Lou or bmfp.  Gotta look forward.

I've been a fan of this team since before I understood football. Back then Razorbacks were everywhere; Jackie Brasuell came to my friend's birthday party, his nephew.  Fourth grade teacher was Ronnie Jones mom. Dad bought tires from martine bircher's dad.  "He's a Razorback" was something awesome to a child.  You can't imagine how Frank Broyles energized the entire state, how we were glued to the radio with Bud Campbell, how JFB took a poor program without a decent airport and showed the state it could compete with big bad teams from Texas.

Those mid60's teams were remarkable.  And then the big shootout happened.  It really broke JFB, my dad, the program.  Some attribute coaches success in that era to the de facto segregation of college football in the SEC and SWC, but I disagree.  Frank signed Jon Richardson and broke that barrier but walked a tightrope.  I think the decline of the program started with the missed clip on Jimmy streets TD run.  Since then it's been blips of near greatness in a morass of mediocrity.

There was a shot of him on the sideline where he looked like he was contemplating his next coaching move. I think he knows he made a mistake coming here.
Well, shit...

This is how shitty our program is. We have old timers (no disrespect, Tex) still talking about the glory years of the 60's. All hail JFB! Fuck him, he's a large part of why we are where we are. Pissed away Holtz with his ego, couldn't land JJ because of his ego, and kept an ass kissing yes man around years and years longer than he should have, why? Because he kissed Franks ass. The stench of his later years is still on this program.

I don't think you lived in the greatness of those days so you look at everything with the recency bias of your generation.  But I digress. Frank made a ton of errors as AD to go with the great things he did.  Failing to hire Jimmy was his absolute worst mistake. His later years were marred with his stupid battle with Nolan and his dicksucking of Hootie.

Lou was going to leave.  He hated living in NWA.  He loved being on Johnny Carson's and endorsing NC klansmen like Jesse helms.  His real issue was killing franks high school coaching network, telling them to contact his agent and requiring honorariums for going to high school banquets.

I grew up in a magic time when the hogs were relevant every season.  I'm smart enough to know those days will never return, and that we need a hc closer to lane kiffin than distant.  Personally I don't think football relevance will ever return

In the season before coming to Arkansas, Bobby had the most expensive team in the country with the most expensive coaching staff...7-6 from his massive OC brain.

Did you ever see the interview where Petrino  said that Jimbo forced him to learn his plays and terminology? Said he spent the first several months learning Jimbo's playbook and what he wanted.

In the "What if" game of people Frank didn't hire... would Pete Carroll have ever accomplished anything here?
