This situation is solely on HY and typically Arkansas.  Pittman actually did have success that first year when you consider we only played an SEC schedule and he won three conference games.  If Pittman had done what he said he would do and gone to the house after going 4-8 and if we had an AD who was strong enough to make him, we wouldn't be here.  Instead Sam dug in and HY didn't have the guts to make the move until we hit rock bottom.

Like animal said above, most schools around the conference have a pretty good to very good QB. I just can't wrap my head around why he thought KJ was the guy. And the backup is worse???
Is it that hard to find a good QB these days with money to throw at them? Can they not throw some money at 2 tackles that can block?
These guys were more worried about the 🐱 and dolla bills this summer than trying to learn football I guess.

The QB play under Chad was equally as bad, if not worse than KJ and AJ. How many QBs did we go through in those two years? Granted he did bring in Jefferson, but unfortunately he didn't have one wrinkle in his brain.

I kind of can't help but wonder, at this point, if the real problem isn't the AD / BoT / Univ people that is the problem.  Not just because we can't get a good coach (also that), but even mediocre coaches shouldn't see the rate of failure we do here.  I can't help but wonder if maybe there are processes and internals that just plain old get in the way, prevent success, etc.  We've all been a part of some business organization where policy or process just fucks everything up... Where the people themselves, trying to do the job, are smart and good at what they do, but the internal mechanisms outside their control create failure.  It wouldn't surprise me in the least to find that in our football program. "That's how we do things."  "That's how it has always been done."  "I can't change the policy, it's above my pay grade." 

Would certainly explain why Petrino was successful, and why the PTB hated him so much.  He had precisely the kind of temperament that would lend itself to saying "fuck that, I'm doing X". 

I'm not saying Silverware is a good coach, I don't think he is.  I think he's in way over his head, Tim Cramsey sucks and shouldn't have been brought in, and then he brought in Memphis talent... to the SEC.  However, this seems to be a systemic issue.

I always fall back to what's a coach supposed to say in that situation? He can't tell the truth. He can really only gaslight as long as possible before "leveling with everyone". We're in the early season so flow chart says "Gotta get it fixed"....we'll move into "We can't give up on these keeds" and then eventually "Gotta start looking to the future". 

As someone else said...best strategy may be to sign some flunked out NFL guys and make the SEC vote us out. I bet they wouldn't even notice.
