I read a great article about him this morning in The Athletic. It's behind a pay wall, but really good.

He started at some tiny DIII school in Rhode Island where they practiced on a middle school field and has gradually worked up. He may not have built JMU but they had a massive roster turnover when a lot of guys followed Cignetti to Indiana.

JMU hasn't allowed a single point in the second half since September 27.

I'd certainly give him a long look.

Not I. He's as good an option as any out there, but I think he's just as likely to fail here as he is to succeed. If we back him (or anyone) with the NIL that's on par with these other schools, then count me in.

I've always been a Petrino guy but he needed to win two games to get the job.

Franklin is a splash hire and that's what we need if we're ever going to break out of this shit sandwich. He would put us in line to recruit/buy a whole different level of talent than anyone that's been listed. There would be no excuses for big money not to jump in. If he's seriously considering Va Tech, we can certainly have him if we offer.

I doubt it will be money drives where Franklin goes. It's where he has the best opportunity to win. Turning VT into a winning program in the ACC  is viewed to be a lot easier than turning us around in the SEC.
