Of course, Texas got a big win over a team that lost to UCF 45-3 and lost to SOUTH Alabama.  That certainly rates putting them in over an undefeated team.  The Big 12 and the ACC had only 2 games and the Big 12 won both but anybody saying the Big 12 is demonstrably better than the ACC is full of shit.

Texas is the one that got in that should not have.  If UGAG had beat Alabama then they would have obviously gotten in and Alabama would not have, so that means you have to assume that Texas all by their lonesome would have gotten bumped above FSU if UGAG had won.  I doubt that would have happened.

We're headed for a two team league comprised of the SEC and Big 10. They'll play 16+ games and have a playoff similar to the NFL. Teams are spread all over the country in those conferences now, from New Jersey to Florida to Texas to Washington to California. NIL has turned college football into a paid profession. No more going to class (is that even a thing anymore?).

All of the teams not in the SEC/Big 10 will have to unite to form minor leagues just to survive.

It is interesting that the committee rewarded an undefeated Liberty team with the G5 spot over SMU who had more quality wins and a much stronger schedule yet excluded FSU for the reason they rewarded Liberty Biberty.

bottom line is the committee is a joke and, again, look at the rankings - they had no idea who was good and who wasn't.

Agreed that they were a joke, but we could make that argument every year about 3-4 teams rankings. For example Notre Dame. The "polls" cant wait to put them in the top 10. It's almost automatic if they even sniff a 5-0 start.  Same with several of the "Big Boy" schools. And every year we wait for them to lose, which they often do, and then they drop in rankings as they should. Problem solved.

What we've NEVER seen is a Notre Dame (etc.) winning a really close game to a team they should've whipped, then dropping in the rankings. It's been a customary habit for the polls to reward the win. You win, you stay put. That's been the way going back to the BCS. We might not have always agreed with it, but that's the way it's always gone down (with maybe the very rare exception of 2004 Auburn).

Now, we're slicing and dicing the "How they looked when they won," and "They're starting/backup QB is hurt," and "Yeah, they won, but they looked shitty and their QB is hurt, so it makes sense that they drop."

Other than 2004 Auburn, there's absolutely zero precedent, or support for that kind of decision other than, "Fuck FSU."
