They should have kicked away. They still had three timeouts, and better chance of making a three and and out than recovering an onsides kick. Even though they recovered it.

But the onsides kick worked.  It should have been AState's ball.  That side judge made a terrible call.

This. I haven't watched a bowl game yet. I used to try to watch them all.

Same. I'd watch every bowl game from the middle of December through the NC game, including the early bowls with mid-majors which were usually the most fun.

My interest in college football in general has taken a major nosedive to the point I've stopped giving a shit entirely. It obviously doesn't help that the UA has been teh suck, but this entire model — from the economics of coaching contacts to the portal to NIL insanity — has turned me off. Ever since the O'Bannon case, the ensuing class action ruling, and Covid, this sport has been on a path to self-destruction.

I've started following — and ultimately caring way more about — the NFL, which actually has collective bargaining and guardrails around free agency and player pay to maintain a semblance of competitive parity and not predicated on the whims of 18 year olds.
