Unless his ego is driving him to get back to a P4 job or his family hates living in Vegas, he would probably be wise to stay there for a while.

Winning there for a while would probably open up a lot of wallets for NIL.  Look at the kind of money they threw around for basketball payroll when Tark was kicking ass there.  If he can make UNLV football the in thing for the wealthy out there he could do well for a long time.

Where do you think Lashlee at Arlansas fits into this pecking order? These are likely going to be our common opponents. Keep in mind, Lashlee only has 1 year of experience against P4 competition in a very bad ACC. They have an extremely easy schedule this year. Their best win is against TCU.

Normally I would not watch Arizona State - Iowa State on a football Saturday.

But when it's the only one on, and the winner goes to the playoffs, you're right it's a good game and here I am.

Arizona State has sucked in football for several years haven't they? Texas and OU leave the B12 and ASU and bunch of others come in and suddenly the profiles of Iowa State and Arizona State are raised several clicks. Also I'm guessing Arizona State doesn't suck at the NIL game.

Assuming I'm tracking, I have never bought into the argument of we should stay in the SEC.  Frankly I'd rather watch us go 10-2 versus a watered down Big 12 than perennially be between 4-8 and 7-5 in the SEC.

The only good counterargument is that shifts are going to continue, and we better stay where we are to be included.  But as far as the competition, I'd rather win more games against medium-level opponents.

If the model is moving to one or two super conferences, then it doesn't matter.  Arkansas isn't competing in that situation.  

If it stays at 4 or 5 power conferences then I say we move to the one where we can get 10 wins a year and have a legit shot of making the playoffs.  

The SEC clearly hasn't been a net benefit for the athletics department.   We still don't have enough money to compete apparently.  What's the point of staying?
