For a major SEC program like the Oklahoma Sooners, 26 players entered the portal since Dec. 9. As a result, head coach Brent Venables revealed the Sooners will now have only 56 scholarship players available for the upcoming Armed Forces Bowl against the Navy Midshipmen.

24 of the 56 players will be freshmen, and that's 29 players short of the 85-scholarship roster limit.

Some of the notable players Oklahoma will be without include quarterback Jackson Arnold, wide receiver Nic Anderson, wide receiver J.J. Hester and tight end Bauer Sharp.

Apparently counting who is in the portal is a fluid situation.  OU's 26 is not mentioned here.  And does Russell count zero times, once, or twice for our total?

The Hogs have had 26 players enter the transfer portal, which ties for the most out of all P4 programs. They are tied with Arizona and Purdue.

I really like Chris Klieman.  I'm not sure how he would do in the SEC but KSU is tough tough job.  He is doing better than anyone not named Bill Snyder ever has.

Without an NFL All Pro roster, he'd be no better than 7-5 here. The head coach doesn't make a lick of difference.
