Quote from: Rick B. on Sep 02, 2026, 10:49 PMBecause I'm one of the old fucks who go to all the things, I went to the Ryan Silverfield Show at Catfish Hole tonight and man, KJ sounds great.  Kid is going to be a supastar.  I'm revising my prediction to 8-4.    ;D

Quote from: DrMongoose on Sep 02, 2026, 11:53 PMPlease expand on this. Was it something he said or others said about him?

I saw a 4 or 5 minute interview of him on the coaches show last Sunday and I came away very impressed.  He sounds very intelligent and his off the field work ethic and study of film, appears to be quite a bit more than QB's we've had in the past.  He not only studies practice and game film, but he studies other QB's, pro and college, to try and pick up things that make them successful.  If the line gives him time, I feel he could be pretty good.

Great article.  I still think 4-5 wins are the ceiling, but my piss went from cool to warm after reading that article.

Good read. He talks like he knows what to say to win over the fanbase. I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't have a psychologist help him with the way he portrays himself.

Living in N. Miss., I would hear Silverfield on his weekly interviews on sports radio. Was always impressed with how he carried himself and what he would speak about. I hope he can have success here.

"Losing is a disease. It is as contagious as the bubonic plague. "
The same people demanding everyone embrace your beliefs, have zero tolerance and condemn another for embracing theirs.  Oh, the irony.

Bubonic plague isn't actually contagious.

Very good read.  Didn't Marcello post on the old board at one time before he went to Auburn?

Human-to-human spread of Yersinia pestis is rare but can occur once the infection reaches the pneumonic phase.

Then it is called Pneumonic Plague.

Quote from: The Whyte Boar on Sep 03, 2026, 09:21 AMI like that there appears to be no detail that Silverfield thinks is beneath his attention.  May not mean anything in the end, but lack of attention to detail is usually indicative of important things being missed.  After the last "aw shucks" regime, we need it.

People miss the fact that it wasn't Bobby's offensive ability that was responsible for his success here the first time around as much as it was attention to detail.  Time will tell but it seems like Silverfield is the first one we've had since 2011 who was that organized.  When you're playing on the margins as we always are, every little thing matters.

He started on here in either high school or junior high.  Always asked for (and received) honest feedback on anything he was writing both then and later when he wrote in college.

He's talented, but lost me when he was working on the Auburn site and joined in with them on the hillbilly/incest/random Arkansas derision as if he wasn't one of us.  I called him out on Twitter for it and subsequently got blocked.  Pussy.  Never forget where you came from.
