That 25 million dollar roster is woefully under performing. Miss State and Kentucky's NIL is right there with us and they are getting way better outcomes. Of course schedule may have something to do with that but Kentucky went into A&M and got the win. We go in and got butt fucked. We'll likely get abused by everyone else on the schedule unless they can find a QB with a brain...and some blocking. Arguably South Carolina might be a really solid chance we can win that one if they can keep the keeds heads in it but I'm not sure they ever had the keeds heads

Quote from: FNG on Oct 05, 2026, 10:09 AMArkansas should try to lure Keith Carter away from Ole Miss and back to his home state. He has a grudge against the UofA but could probably swallow that grudge for the right amount of money. He is currently making approximately a quarter million less than HY in total compensation and has shown that he is not afraid to be aggressive in pushing boundaries when it comes to seeking advantages over the competition.
You really think Keith Carter is going to come here because it's his home state? LOL

He is an Ole Miss alum and played ball there. He played semi pro ball until 2009 and his first "job" when his career finished was when he was named Athletic Foundation Director at Ole Miss in 2009.

He ain't leaving Ole Miss.

KY hired a solid coach who had previous ties to the program. That helped. Moo St hit with Taylor at QB. Lebby is a splid play caller and they got Arnett back coaching D which he's good at. There's talent in Mississippi HS football.

Not a chance. He's at the school that wanted him as a player. He's set until they want him gone.

Yep.  They make up for a poor offense by having an equally poor defense.

Serious question, but does in-state talent even matter anymore?  Taking it a step further, does high school recruiting even matter?  Most schools comparable to Arkansas are getting most of their players out of the portal every year.  I'd also argue we have had some really good coaches express interest in our job over the past 15 years, but we typically alienate them as we choose the very worst candidate possible.  Our current AD signed off on Chad and hired Pittman and Silverfield.  That doesn't really instill a lot of confidence.  I doubt I ever see Arkansas football competitive in my lifetime and I know this is a tall task, but if we could get a competent AD who could hire a competent head coach, I see no reason why we couldn't be a nationally competitive program.

Vanderbilt is 6 pm Oct 17, ESPN2.

I am already going to SL Blues @ Nashville Predators hockey that night. Gonna be weird driving to an SEC town when the Hogs are playing and not going to the game.

It matters less and less. Money is what is getting kids to a school these days. That said, if we offer the same as an out of state school, proximity may win out. Right now most schools are coming in and paying more than we are wolling to. RS changed that when he was hired and flipped a few kids.

I think we will rely on the portal more than HS.  Most of your immediate contributors are going to be transfers. It will be interesting to see how that changes if this act passes.

Saving Silverman didn't have a good resume either.  He was basically a lifelong coffee grabber, jersey washer, OL assistant!mind you, who somehow managed to Peter Principle himself into the head job at Memphis.

Seeing that, Arkansas decided to Jesus Principle him into the SEC.

He doesn't speak well, he runs his words together a lot, as another poster mentioned.

He's a guy who is a career master of bullshit obviously, but he's even lacking in that department here with his same canned responses since he's been here, that nobody in our "media" ever pushes back on.

I give the guy credit.  I give Sam credit.  I even give Chad credit for taking advantage of us and hamstringing our football budget with 20 something million in buyouts.

They all came here to get paid and die, and everywhere they left was better for their departure.

All while Hunter Yurachek manages to get Brett McMurphey to write a puff piece about how firing him would be our biggest mistake.

Chad Morris took advantage of him (he's on record saying he wanted to hire Chad at Houston fml), Sam Pittman took advantage of him, Cal just absolutely owns him, and Silverfield got him too.  Makes sense that Brett is getting free meals and owns him too!  Nobody wants this cuck fired because he's such a terrible leader!

Go ahead and offer the AD job to Carter. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Worse that can happen is it cost Ole Miss more money and maybe they lose the funds to buy a back-up linebacker.

When Bobby Prime came in it was a culture shock, and probably pissed the wrong people off, when he basically said fuck Arkansas and Texas we're going to recruit nationwide for the best players we can get at each position.

Think of how much good the Waltons could have done for the football program with this much money

How many more lies has he made and why is it be tolerated?

Did Tyson say anything of note at the TD club today ?

Doesn't sound like Tyson is going to give more to football.  They give $2 million a year. Says WE need to give more and give Silverware more time.

Fuck
