I say good, means sooner we'll have (hopefully meaningful) change.

As Vader would say, you have failed us for the last time.

You think the BOT is bad, wait tillnyou understand what Sarah had done to the Game and Fish board. This whole state is in a world of hurt from what we know has to to one of the stinkyist fishyist cooters this side of the Sippi.

After Saturday how many punters have committed?

We didn't want them anyway

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Once authored a post that critics claimed, "Was notaslibro level."

Honestly since we are going to suck anyway I don't know why we aren't super focused on high end high school recruiting. Big selling point to come here and get your lumps before that big jump to Ole Miss or Missouri.

"I got fired for using free speech" yea imagine getting killed over it

"backs going in and out every three snaps"

If you go three and out, you pretty much have to do that.

Do all these players suck?

Not going the "we don't need them" route, but that school list...woof.

Not exactly a rundown of blue bloods.

We put out the least SEC level HS talent than anyone in our conference by a significant margin. It's arguably our biggest hurdle in this league.

Arkansas HS football is not good this year.

It's never any good.

There are probably no more than 2-3 SEC level prospects in the state in a relatively good year.  It's always been that way, which is why we have to find ways to do more with less.  Also why money isn't our biggest hurdle...we've always been at a talent disadvantage, even going back to the SWC, although with an overwhelming amount you would think we might be able to close the gap.
Perish peacefully in a warm environment.

Barton Fink

Money overcomes the talent disadvantage. Kid's are going where they get the biggest bag. We're to the point now where we will have to overpay most likely.

NIL presents the only option we've ever had to overcome talent issues. Albeit, it's not an ideal option, but it exists.

You love to see a Jojo Accelus from Monticello bouncing around out there, Chuck.

I don't know enough to agree or disagree.  Just intersting that every coach has been judged on the "build a fence around the state" line and now no one seems to care.  I certainly think we should get every 3 star player in the state over the 3 star players from out of state, as those players have sucked ass.

Barton Fink

I don't think you can always use that as a fact, but if all things are equal I agree. The 3 star pool is extremely large.

I don't disagree with the general premise but that doesn't explain how Missouri, Kentucky, and South Carolina seem to overcome similar in state recruiting disadvantages.   They clearly do more with less.  Why can't we?  We used to do that...and more.

According to the AI Gawds...

"Arkansas & Kentucky: Historically produce the fewest elite high school football recruits in the SEC footprint. For context, over multi-year cycles, both states have generated fewer than 70 top-tier signees each, compared to hundreds from states like Georgia or Florida. There are frequently recruiting cycles where Kentucky or Arkansas produce zero or only a small handful of four- or five-star players."

"Missouri: Ranks as the next lowest producer. While it produces roughly double the talent volume of Arkansas or Kentucky, it still lags significantly behind traditional SEC powerhouses."

"South Carolina: Ranks just ahead of Missouri but sits firmly in the bottom tier of total homegrown talent volume inside the conference footprint."

What's the difference? We're getting our asses kicked with bought out of state guys, not really sure it could be any worse. We've let guys go to other schools, like Lyndsey, Archer, that may not have helped a lot but could they be worse than what we're currently trotting out on the field.
I watched a lot of college football over the last two weeks and to a team they had better QBs and RBs than we have. Our coaches should be fired on talent eval alone. What a bad way to spend $20+ mil.

BleedinRed

I would think an in state kid is going to play harder and take more pride than an out of state kid.  So, if you are only landing 3 start athletes, why wouldn't you take the in state kid first?  Plus, when that 4 star or 5 star unicorn comes along, you have relationships that can help land the whale.  What, do we not have enough room on the roster to make that happen?

Barton Fink

It's hit and miss. You have guys like Crutchfield that never touch the field. We've also seen a lot of our good in state talent transfer out. Sategna, E Harris, Chamblee, Davalier, etc.

Agree we suck at evaluation.

Most of our guys are transfers. We lose our good players to OM, OU, UT, etc. and replace them with guys from Howard, Memphis, Louisiana or a kid that isn't getting PT at a P4 school.
