Just a couple of days ago I was reading tweets about how many former players hated BP and playing for him. None of this coming from the actual players, mind you. Since yesterday I've really seen nothing but support for this hire from his former players here.

A complete understatement, frankly.

Former players all seem THRILLED, even the ones that had been very hard on Pittman like Jake Bequette.

Wasn't there an in-state QB committed to Mizzou or K-State or something? Also Kane Archer is a couple years away...not sure about how much of a priority he is but I reckon he's kinda what Petrino would be looking for but by the time that guy gets old enough Petrino will really be an old fucker.

I've really never seen any players that stayed and played for him have anything negative to say even before this. All this speculation of everyone hated him really seems to be code that Jeff Long and all the nerds he hired didn't like him, hence his ridiculous "football is fun again" statement he made during the Bielema hire.

I wouldn't classify him as a big one now that Hasz is back on board, but still one I'd prefer to keep. 

If he doesn't see the benefit of playing in the Petrino offense, he probably wouldn't be able to understand the playbook anyway.

Do you think the bold part is true? To make a simple example, do you think Mississippi State will make a $$$ offer to KJ, but we won't make a $$$ offer to Will Rogers? If so, are we behind the curve AGAIN?

Re: QB capabilities. Without going back to find the posts, there were comments here about how Ryan Mallet and Lamar Jackson weren't scientific rockets, either (comparing KJ).

In his press conference, Petrino specifically said that they were. He said Mallet was one of his smartest quarterbacks ever, and Lamar Jackson was the same way. They could both go to the line of scrimmage, see the defense, and get you out of a bad play call.
