I hope he gets back, he had pro potential. He says in his post that he hasn't been to the Dr to see if he can play again(?). They may be trying to make him go get evaluated so they can open up his spot if he's done.

apparently the team doctors told pittman they don't think he can safely play. what the kid thinks is another matter because the decision is not his. if pittman thinks it's unwise to risk his health, then the matter is over.

he can transfer out and see if another school is willing to take a chance. we had a d-lineman (gerald?) do that and got cleared to return after a season.

This kinda screams we want the scholarship spot but maybe he's already been allocated as some kind of exemption, even if he's cleared odds are good he won't see the field...maybe only as a make-a-wish kind of rare victory formation type of thing.


Anyway maybe some doctors can chime in on this. Is there a difference between technically fully healed or once he broke necked it's more likely to happen again? Fully healed doesn't mean a doctor is going to nut up and clear him for full contact sports.
