I kinda wondered about that during the game yesterday as it seemed like the pecking order had changed from how I figured it would go.

Jackson seems to be a hard runner, Dub looks to be in better form, Russell is going to get a shot with the 1s at some point, and Johnson could still possibly factor in especially as a Broderick Green type but those carries will ultimately go to Russell. 16 will probably get some Joe Adams type carries possibly. Emmanuel Crawford is also on the roster but hasn't factored in as of yet.

The most striking thing I saw yesterday was the #2s on offense predominantly the Oline looked like well last years line. I saw Crawford, Harris, Street, and a couple other hold overs. We need to add some depth at OL is what I'm saying.

As they said in the press conference we didn't have any DL breaking loose and getting into the back field. I think they are excited about some guy they got from Albany as a DE. Ian Geffrard is a couple biscuits away from 4 bills...might need to take him the other way a bit. We'll still need another dude or two.

WR after the main starters didn't look all that impressive. I didn't notice Dozier out there...maybe he's hurt. Brown I believe was the youngest guy making some plays. He was the one getting some educational advise from BMFP after he didn't cut up field to get two more yards. I think we'll add some depth here

kicker was unimpressive. Didn't see if Vito was doing kickoffs...I though maybe they were going to give him a try as the fg kicker.

the punter guy (not Fletcher) was booming some.

I felt like KJ Jackson came in behind the same line and was firing some bullets initially where as Criswell and Singleton were trying to be more selective. Ultimately Jackson had a interception but I think you can see where he's going to come up the depth chart...probably not this season though. I think he's competing for the starter role by next season depending on staff changes. Hard to know what you really have with Singleton behind that shitty of a line but you can gauge what these 2 or 3 QBs do behind the same line. One guy was moving the ball. I guess Singleton got a long td but ESPN was taking a break at that time so it wasn't shown. I'm confident in saying Criswell is going to be an older guy at QB but ultimately he's going to get passed over by younger guys that are as good or better. I wouldn't be surprised if he bounced to UCA or something for his final year.

Yes we should take all of this stuff for what it is. I know we've had springs where people would watch the red/white and come back and say we aint gonna piss a drop. I usually can't remember one spring from the next but I know we've seen some games where dudes would look awesome and you would never see them in a real game.

I think it was Trey Biddy yesterday during his Walk & Talk review where he said Green looked very iffy going against the 1s in practice but looked smooth as fuck in the spring game. Big difference in knowing if you are going to get hit or not. It's a work in progress but I feel somewhat optimistic that this team isn't nearly as shitty as it was a few months ago.

That's a good point. I thought they just took their money and quit trying. It may be they should have bought their linemen something instead of all the Gucci shit they were wearing. Might have even gotten a block every now and then. It cost Rocket a lot of money by him just laying down this year.

Which is some coaches want to be blue to scrimmage another team.
It is also why some mid level coaches don't want that because then the film is out there and the guys that do well will portal out and up.

Long story short, I'll believe it when I see it. Pittman seems to have an inability to have a finger on the pulse of team chemistry after 2021, or lack the stones to do much of anything about it.

Yes I had wondered the same thing how he can keep going back to the same lines and of course nobody follows up with a semi hard question.
