With NIL you lose any feel good stories of kids wanting to come play for the home school. Nah dog...pay up. It's ok though because high school recruiting doesn't matter anymore...or at least that's what I have been told. Let LSU feed them for a year or two then we'll get them when they realize they won't play there plus we'll over pay them then.

They are only committing in hopes the other schools will come back to offer more, then they will decommit and open up recruiting for the Benjamns.

It's just semi-pro sports now. I go to Travs games but I don't think about where they are in the standings. College sports = AA Baseball now.

The least excitement I've ever had for football was Chad Morris 2nd year. By far. At least we have the hope of maybe winning a couple games with Petrino coaching the offense.
Anyways, I'm more apathetic than anything now. "Oh we lost again and didn't even look competitive? Meh. I'm going hunting."

Convince the Braves to move their AA team there in place of the Mariners and I'll buy a suite.

That small glimmer of hope of Obi Wan Petrino riding in on a Harley to save the day seems far fetched. It's far more likely his best days were left in the ditch back in 2011.

Place would be rocking on a Friday or Saturday night. I'm not letting the idea go. They aren't staying in NLR. Mayor wants to repurpose War Memorial but I don't see LR with the appetite for the expense at the moment. Would take about $40mm to build the stadium city would have to issue bonds. But given all the baseball history, I think it would do well

I don't think there is enough population base for it. 

If there was a lower league, maybe short season nearby I think it would work.

Had no choice but to find a buyer. City of NLR won't return calls. They aren't gonna pay up.

I've always wondered how the Meeks claimed ownership.  My understanding was that there were shares issued back in 1962 when baseball was brought back to LR and nobody has a majority of the shares, or if there is even a list of owners of the shares.
